Picking up just where Coming Home left off, Mariah Stewart takes us on the second part of our journey in the book, Home Again, part of the Chesapeake Diaries series. This time the story that takes place within the small seaside community of St. Dennis, involves Dallas MacGregor, a famous Hollywood movie star seeking solace among her friends and family while waiting for her divorce to be final from her husband Emilio, who has turned up in the tabloids with being seen with other woman in a sex scandal nightmare. Dallas takes her son Cody with her to St. Dennis after seeing that even she can't protect him from the rumors circulating about his father even at summer camp. She feels that they both can use a break while things simmer down in Hollywood.
Dallas returns to her Aunt Berry's house, who herself is a retired long famous starlet from the silver screen as well, but since changing her last name, the press haven't been able to bother her in this small seaside town. Berry is delighted to have Dallas and Cody stay with her since she has been lonely for so long. After she herself gave up happiness and love since returning back to St. Dennis herself, Berry still finds herself remembering her long lost love, Archer and the memories of what could have been.
Grant Wyler has also returned to St. Dennis after his divorce with his daughter Paige to take over the local veterinary practice. He shares a history with Dallas of a summer romance that lasted through their high school years only to find himself left broken hearted when Dallas left to find her life's passion in Hollywood on the silver screen, never looking back at what her life could have been with Grant. Since this is such a small town, odds are highly likely that Dallas and Grant as destined to bump into one another.
