Blink

I don't think there isn't anyone who doesn't know what the Rapture is? From Hollywood movies, to books, everyone has heard of it, but what remains to be seen is who believes it is a real event? In the novel, Blink by S.A. Jewell, it opens with the event known as the Rapture from the Bible. In less than a blink of an eye, millions from everywhere simply vanish leaving no traces behind that they were even there. Most of the disappearances have happened in the United States with relatively little coming from the Middle East or China. Now the world has to answer the one question lingering in everyone's mind, "Where did everyone go? Will it happen again?"

As the world begins its downward spiral into chaos, and while the economies all over the globe try to struggle with the implications of millions simply vanishing into thin air, there are a remnant that know precisely what has happened and why they have been left behind. Now they will be the target in the years ahead that usher in the seven years of tribulation or wrath of God on an unbelieving world that despite all these global catastrophes, refuse to acknowledge Him and instead reject Him even further. Just as the Bible predicts in countless books from Revelation, to Daniel to Ezekiel and even the New Testaments, time is running out for a world looking for answers.

Marcus Junius, a charismatic leader from Italy soon realizes how he can profit from what is happening around the globe, since the vanishings have not impacted the European Union as much and realizes that the leader who can control chaos and bring about prosperity and peace when the world is out of control, will be the one that they will look to for answers. Little by little he capitalizes on the situation and soon finds himself forming a Federation that promises peace, security and prosperity for the nations that join. He even manages to pull off the impossible when he gets Israel to sign a peace treaty for at least the next seven years to ensure that no one wipes this nation off the face of the earth. But is it really all that people expect or is there something even more sinister about to be unleashed on the world?

I received Blink by S.A. Jewell compliments of Ambassador International Publishers. Since I have been a fan of Bible Prophecy and Eschatology, I LOVED this novels perspective on the events prophesied to take place in the future. I would have liked to have seen this one broken into a series of books since the story line is so consolidated to wrap seven years into one novel. The perspective and subsequent passages from the Bible are wonderful and hopefully will lead the reader to do their own research to see what the Bible has to say. I would easily give this novel a 4.5 out of 5 stars and only wish the novel was more in depth instead of so consolidated in the events that happen during the Tribulation period.

The Coming Flood

I have been a true fan of Bible Prophecy since before I knew about Jesus as my personal Savior. I guess you could say that growing up as a Catholic and seeing Thief in the Night pretty much scared me about the event most refer to as the Rapture. Later in my early 20's and discovering a true relationship with Jesus, I left behind my Catholic rituals and embraced a salvation in Jesus I never knew before but compelled me to discover more about Bible prophecy than ever before and with an urgency now with the state of things around the globe drawing us ever near to those End Time events the Bible describes.

From the persecution of Christians to the very turning away of the true church, the Bible is 100% in its foretelling of things that have happened, things that are happening and things that will happen in the future. In the book, The Coming Flood, author Jeremy Wells takes readers into first of all a disclosure that while his interpretation of Revelation and other scriptures referring to the Tribulation period are just his, he offers readers a view at what Post-Tribulation Christians might believe could very well happen. For me, I simply don't agree. I am a firm believer in the rapture event but wanted to see if his viewpoints might convey something I might have missed along the way.

One thing we both agree on is that you can't use other books to interpret what Bible prophecy means, "If you are going to read any book other than the Bible, it is important to recognize the difference between ideas that build upon another person's ideas, and theories that precisely fit what the Bible teaches. I heard someone with a pre-tribulation belief say at a conference, "I can prove anything I want to from the Bible, but that doesn't make it right." I think he was referring to how easy is is to take Scripture out of context and make it fit your ideas. People often do this unintentionally, but an incorrect interpretation of passage of Scripture can lead to incorrect theology regardless of intentionality. The absolute best way to understand the Bible is to read and reread the Bible. The more books you read apart from the Bible, the more you open yourself up to man's fallible ideas. If you have not read the Bible cover to cover at least once, there is absolutely no reason you should be reading this book or any other prophecy book (or any other book about anything for that matter.)" (pg 12). On this we can agree.

I have read my Bible from cover to cover 3 times and now on my fourth and while there are some things we can agree on, I am not convinced by the arguments Jeremy Wells has provided using his understanding of Scripture. I don't believe Jesus didn't know the day or the hour as he referred to when asked about when the end time events would occur, He stated only His Father did, but the seasons would be clear. This means that only the timing of the events of the End Times from what I believe will be found in Revelation 4-22 occurs after the rapture of the church age believers. The exact day or hour would be unknown to all men, but Jesus reminds us that we can recognize the seasons of said events just like we can understand the timing of our own seasons based on what we can see.

We can see stages being set for what I believe will be the Tribulation spoken of dealing with God's wrath upon the unbelieving world who adamantly refuse to acknowledge a belief in Christ and those who remain undecided. With the ongoing threat from terrorist groups like ISIS who use beheadings of Christians to drive home their own power points, these are just the events the Bible speaks of coming in the last days when people won't be concerned at all about these things like they did in the past. The church and world growing apathetic even when it comes to issues dealing with human rights violations, racial wars and the ever growing threat among the world against Jesus Christ. While I don't agree with many of the arguments Jeremy Wells uses in his book to convince readers about a coming Christian genocide he refers to as the Coming Flood, and thus the reason that Christians will have to endure what he refers to as Satan's wrath and not God's wrath upon the world, we can simply agree to disagree on certain points.

Some readers might agree with this book, but I remain unconvinced that whenever God uses His judgment upon the world, He always spares a remnant, from Noah to Lot. I remain convinced that the rapture will be  real event and for now the only way we can know for certain is to wait until it happens or doesn't. The one thing we must do is be ready for the coming of Jesus Christ and in order to do that, you must believe in Him for your salvation otherwise your eternal fate is sealed according to the Bible. I received The Coming Flood by Jeremy Wells compliments of LED Ministries and Book Crash. I would rate this book a 3 out of 5 stars in my opinion just based on the evidence he uses to justify his post-Tribulation of view and how he interprets various Scriptures that even now some of Revelations prophecies have happened and are continuing to occur such as Luke 17:36 which refers to two men in the field and one being taken away, he claims is one taken away to execution and not the rapture event. I disagree. While some readers might agree with his position, again the main point is simply to provide readers with a post-Tribulation viewpoint. I find that if you have to twist Scripture to make it fit the viewpoint, it may not work as God had intended. Doesn't mean its wrong or right, just a difference of opinion. Only time will tell.

A Jewel of the Kingdom

"If you hear someone who claims to speak the very words of God and their message does not agree with Scripture, turn off the T.V. or change channels. Prophecy is not an expression of our personal opinion, our own understanding of Biblical truth, our interpretation, our own experience, our view of the world, a display of our personal Biblical knowledge, or a contest about who can quote the most Scripture."

"Have you noticed that many prophecies recorded in the Bible reveal sin and its consequence?"

Understand the gift of prophecy is probably the most misunderstood of all the Spiritual gifts. "Clearly, prophetic messages do not originate in our imaginations, impressions, intuition, or common dreams. Prophecy's purpose is not to please the ears of those who hear it. True prophecy typically does not serve to help us make personal decisions such as who to marry, where to go to school, what car to buy. New Testament congregational prophecy is NOT some kind of crystal ball to tell us about our personal future."

We must first understand what the gift of prophecy is, who is can be gifted to, when should it be used and most importantly how can we tell false prophecies and false prophets from the real deal. I know for me, when I began studying spiritual gifts, this was probably the one I desired the most, but not in order that I might share some word from God, but that I might see into the future some events and be able to enlighten a few people that doom was on the horizon. How clearly wrong my intentions were and how I understand now, why I never received that gift as a believer in Christ. I had it all wrong.

In Cho Larson's latest book, A Jewel of the Kingdom, he shares this condensed but precise book on what prophecy is, how it was used throughout the Bible, what it isn't, and how it can be used today to help strengthen the church of this age. I received A Jewel of the Kingdom by Westbow Press and the author, himself for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation aside for my copy of the book in exchange for my fair and unbiased review of the book. It is laid out perfect for individual or small group Bible studies, with each chapter, having a set of questions to answer as well as a space for your own notations. It also includes Proof Scriptures under certain sub-sections to help you dive deeper into the Bible for clarification on that subject, for example, :Where does a prophet prophesy? Proof Scripture: 1 Corinthians 14:12, 1 John 4:1.

This book came at a perfect time in my own persona morning devotions as I had been doing a study through the prophets like Ezekiel and Jeremiah who all foretold of their own dealings with false prophets of their day, leading the people astray in contradiction to God's true message for his people. They spoke of a coming wrath from God for disobedience and the false prophets promised only peace and prosperity for the people. In response the people liked what they were doing and didn't want to turn from their evil lifestyle so they disregarded God's true prophets. I think this would be a value to anyone who wants to research the subject of prophecy in regards to what the Bible has to say about it and most of all how it can be used in the church today. Who knows perhaps you have been given the gift of prophecy and don't even realize you have it?! I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars in my opinion.

The Babylon Code

"There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact. ~ Sherlock Holmes, The Bascombe Mystery.

You just don't know how very true the statement is. When you look at the sorry state our world seems to falling into rapidly, you begin to wonder if there isn't a reason why all of this is happening. Are we headed rapidly towards a convergence of some kind? I believe we are and so do most people who are surveyed in the world. However the outcomes are too very different ones. Some believe we are heading towards the culmination of a one world government while the others believe we are simply living in the final days of Bible prophecy. Which everyone one you believe, it is apparent something is happening and it doesn't look like it's going to get any better.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the United Nations General Assembly that 'biblical prophecies are being realized. Franklin Graham says the world is in the 'last hours' before Christ return and Pope Francis believes mankind is in the beginning stages of a piecemeal, "Third World War." All of these remarks are coming on the heels at a time of plummeting morality, spiritual apathy, exploding national debts, severe economic turmoil, political uncertainty, a spate of historic natural disasters, worsening worldwide drought, record-breaking extreme weather, the growing risk of a nuclear conflagration and other daunting challenges. Have the biblical end-times finally arrived?

We have had the September11th, terrorists attacks, Hurricane Katrina, the 2008 financial meltdown, the Fukushima nuclear disaster and the increasingly unstable situation in the Middle East with the rise of ISIS and Iran's suspected development of nuclear weapons. There appears to be no end to the bad news. We have the killings of Christians by Muslims from Indonesia to Bangladesh to Pakistan, China tearing down church buildings. Christians tortured, beheaded, and crucified in Iraq, with villages burned and churches destroyed, and much the same in Syria. You can't help but wonder if we are in the last hours before Jesus returns.

Many intuitively sense that the world has entered one of the most dangerous times in all of human history. Society is caught in a maelstrom of converging forces - the growing threat of thermonuclear war, worsening drought and famine and intensifying calls for a new internal order and global authority to address the mounting array of international crises. Experts are alarmed by the continued spread of weapons of mass destruction and threats by Iran, North Korea and ISIS to bring about "Armageddon" in the West. Meanwhile, fears of a economic collapse are growing as nations continue to amass unprecedented levels of debt.

But are all these things merely coincidences or is there something larger at work. Some believe that God has removed His hand of protection and America is being to reap what it has sown by such things as legal abortions, the redefinition of traditional marriage to include same sex couples and now the persecution of Christians within our own bodies if any stand on religious freedoms. Others believe that we are all merely pawns being used by those in the Illuminati, the Freemasons, or the Rothschilds or other secret organizations that have been planning for such a time as this where a one world government, one world economy and a one world religion can be culminated like never before. Is now that time? Are these organizations really at work playing people like master puppeteers? A closer look and an indepth research is required.

In the book, The Babylon Code from Paul McGuire and Troy Anderson, they take a look back into both situations to see how close any of these theories are to becoming a reality. While I can appreciate their interpretations of the Bible from the use of Daniel, Ezekiel, Revelation and more, I see that most of this book is redundant. In fact, I believe you could scale this down to half of what is included and still gain the point behind that they intended. I lost count how many times, the reiterated the story of Nimrod and it's correlation to both the Bible and the world views. I felt like I read a book that had been written in various stages or chapters and then assembled together. I was sincerely hoping for so much more than what this book promises and for me, comes a bit short on delivering what I believe the reader is hoping to gain from reading it. It needs someone to read through it and reorganize the information in a more concise manner to make this what I believe the authors were hoping for. I received The Babylon Code by Paul McGuire and Troy Anderson compliments of Faith Words for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation aside from a free copy of this book to review for my honest opinion. For me this one had promise but failed to deliver in the way I believe they intended and thus the reason for my 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Jesus Boat: Witness to Prophecy

2000 years ago much of what was Ancient Israel was destroyed and with it the hopes of the history of the Jewish people and their culture. It is also surprising that with each day, discoveries are being made that not only validate Ancient Israel but fulfill Bible Prophecy and Jesus' Words to the most minute detail. Following some of the great theologians of our day including Franklin Graham, Joel Rosenberg, Jay Sekulow, Skip Heitzig, and Chuck Smith along with some notated archaeologists as they share with you the most recent discovery ever made in the Sea of Gailee.

In the DVD documentary Jesus Boat: Witness to Prophecy by Edify Films, we get a look at not only the history of the destruction of Ancient Israel, the Jewish Temple to the fall of Ancient Rome, but also a divine unveiling of what could quite possibly be one of the fishing boats that the disciples used or even the very same one as Jesus used. The Sea of Gailee is quite small by comparisons of most seas you would think of, measuring just 12 miles long by 7 miles while. Jesus' ministry all took place in a 12-mile radius. His disciples according to the Bible were fisherman.

Scripture references of Isaiah 9:1-2, in which "he will honor Gailee of the nations, by the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan - the people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in a land of deep darkness, a light has dawned." This brings a discovery of a boat found beneath the mud in the Sea of Gailee by two fisherman brothers, the Lufans, after a 4 year long drought in Israel. What they found there besides the 2000 year old fishing boat, were Jewish and Roman coins along with a Widow's mite which is what Jesus said the widow placed in the offering that was greater than all the other money given by the people. It was the equivalent of bread and lodging for a day.

Just as the archaeologist's laid their hands on the boat, it began to rain, after so many years of drought in Israel. While the men were praying, the rain suddenly stopped and a double rainbow appeared. The boat would turn out to be 27 feet long and 7 1/2 feet wide, handcrafted by 12 different types of wood. There are more surprising divine signs as you watch this documentary that showcases not only how relevant this is to Israel's history but to further document the Bible in its authenticity.

I received Jesus Boat: Witness to Prophecy compliments of Edify Films and Edify Media Group for my honest opinion. Aside from a free copy of the DVD, I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review. The opinions expressed in this review are strictly my personal opinion. I love that the Bible is being authenticated with new discoveries happening all the time. It validates what I have believed that the Bible is 100% accurate. This is a great documentary that showcases Israel's history from the destruction of Jerusalem as predicted by Jesus, to the discovery of a plaque in a Rome coliseum that validates the Temple to what these discoveries mean from authenticating Bible prophecy. I easily give this one a 5 out of 5 stars.
