Recollection - 7 Hours Series

"Nine-Three-One-One-One-Seventy-Five-Seventy Seven."

These were the same numbers that New York taxi cab driver, Adrian Colfax heard himself mumbling each time he drifted in and out of consciousness. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't remember what they meant and why they were continuously on his mind. At 1:01 a.m. he ventured inside Java Cove, a coffee shop he used to frequent every night for a cup of joe back when he was a cabdriver in Manhattan. Back when he was working through the night shift to put himself through college. Back when...

Back when he was in love. Now as Adrian entered the coffee shop, he saw that his old friend Scotty Leonard was still managing the place. He still looked the same after all these years. Adrian felt like Rip Van Winkle waking up after decades of sleep to find that the world had passed him by. Only in Adrian's case the world hadn't changed at all. It just felt older somehow.

He find that by talking to Scotty about his dream and wonders just what the numbers 931117577 mean. Even Scotty can't make heads or tails of the message and refers him to his cousin Pam who is a physic palm reader that occasionally works for the police as needed. He takes Scotty up on his offer and persuades Pam to see him even though she has closed for the night because of Scotty. When she takes his hands across the table she sees something so horrifying and dark, that she immediately tells Adrian to leave. All she will tell him is that he seems to be out of place somehow. That he is unclear and out of focus. He feels that the dark cloud might be death and when he questions her further, she asks if anyone close to him has died recently. Someone he loves.

That's when Adrian realizes that this dream must have something to do with his girlfriend Kate, yet before he can locate her, he has another dream this time longer than the last one and in it the details become more clear. He meets a man who tells him that time is wasting. You just might be able to save her...if you can remember in time. Now if he can only remember what that is that he is supposed to do.

In the short story series, 7 Hours, Recollection is one written by Tom Pawlik and again we are visited by a man who provides an offer simply too good to be true. This one involves Adrian Colfax who is warned that he needs to be careful trying the change the past. You might not like how the future turns out. This is such an incredible series, I am inhaling each one like desserts. They are rich in detail, suspense and always a twist in the message that probes the reader to wonder if you were at the end of your life, and given a choice, to have an additional 7 hours to your life or to go back and revisit 7 hours of your life, what would you chose? That's just what you discover in this short story from Tom Pawlik, what the choice that Adrian makes affects his life and you'll have to read it to know how it all turns out.

Trust me, it's a great story and one I highly recommend. I give this one a 5 out of 5 stars! These are available as eBooks only right now through your local online retailer. So far, I've read three out of the 7 and am going to read them all. If you love stories like your classic Twilight Zone or Night Galley episodes, you will LOVE these!

All of Our Dreams

Even though I couldn’t explain how he could do such a thing, I wasn’t yet ready to believe that Thomas Constant possessed supernatural mastery over time because of one simple parlor trick. I stood and went to the window. Outside, the world was like a photograph. The trees were bent ever so slightly to the east from a wind that no longer blew; a child riding a bicycle appeared to be pedaling as fast as he could, though neither his legs nor the bicycle’s tires were moving. Time had stopped. Thomas Constant had stopped it.

Now that he believed, all Luke Harrison had to do was make a simple choice. 7 more hours to live or go back to any 7 hours in his past. Faced with the horror of what his life would become if he made no choice at all, he chose 7 more hours. He had some last minute details to take care of if he ever wanted to spend eternity with his wife, Adrianna. He only had 7 hours to make sure everything was taken care of.

The one thing he knew for certain was that Time is not a constant. It is priceless and fragile, gentle and fierce, your companion one moment, then suddenly gone. He knew that his time had come to an end. He wasn't afraid, not anymore.

In the short story, All Of Our Dreams by James Andrew Wilson, captures his version of the premise all the six other authors have been challenged with, to create a remarkable story with his talent dealing with a simple choice when faced with death. I think James did an exceptional job at creating his own masterpiece. This is my first experience with James Andrew Wilson's writing and it most certainly will not be my last. I was captivated from the first line and he held me tight in his grasp until I read the final line. I am ready!

This is my fourth book in the 7 Hours Series, which is a collection of short stories geared to wet the appetite of anyone looking for a great experience in suspense in a short amount of time. But a warning must be issued to the reader, you won't be able to read just one. You will want to read them all! If you love twisted short stories with a powerful message, much like the Twilight Zone or Night Galley episodes, then you will LOVE this book as well as the rest. I easily rate this one at a perfect 5 out of 5 stars!

Teardrop - 7 Hours Series

If you were presented with a choice at the moment of your death, to live another 7 hours or to go back and relive any 7 hours of your life, what would you chose? Either way, you will die it's just you are given a choice in how you wish to spend your final hours? This is just the decision presented in the 7 Hours Series.

In Teardrop by Travis Thrasher, Mike Harden, owner of the Grind coffee shop is moments away from suffering from a massive heart attack when Mr. Thomas Constant pays him a visit just in the final minutes of his life. The choice is his, 7 hours more, or any 7 hours in his past.

At first, Mike can't believe it but when pressured for a choice in the final minute, his is an easy one. He wants to go back to his wedding day, the day where he can confront one of his wedding guests and one who will ultimately kill his wife based on meeting her that fateful day. But just how is possible to kill a man on your wedding day and go completely unnoticed? Taking his training as a former cop, Mike tries to remember back what happened that day, but the unfortunate timing of his wedding coordinator keeps Mike so busy, it's hard to find a way to confront Vince without leaving witnesses and still participating in his wedding day. Will he be able to go through with it or will his actions forever change the future he would have later in life?

This short story collection in the 7 Hours Series, reminds me of Lay's Potato Chip's saying comparing this series of books, You can't read just one! These are so addicting and wonderful to read, you have to know how they all turn out. Each author was presented with the same premise, but their story creativity was left up to their own area of literature expertise. Being a huge fan of anything Travis Trasher writes, I had to scoop this one up. I was not disappointed in any way, and this was the second book I read in this collection, but definitely NOT my last. I easily rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend this to fans of such stories of The Twilight Zone and Night Gallery, because that is what these remind me of. For now, I am off to read the next one!

This book is available as an eBook through your favorite book retailer! For more information on Teardrop, Travis Thrasher or where to pick up a copy of this eBook today click on the links below:

Rearview: 7 Hours Series

Dan Blakely was on the literally verge of success. Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel he never thought in his wildest dreams that anything could change so drastically in the blink of an eye or in his case in a decision he felt could hold no repercussions for him. Yet all of that would change in the matter of 7 simple hours.

When he got up that morning little could dampen his spirits until he got a phone call from his boss asking to speak with him right away when he gets in first thing. He didn't think he had anything to be concerned about. So when he arrives at the office, he learns that one his students, Erin Schriver, who he confronted about cheating on her literature essay paper, now is accusing him of sexual harassment and physical abuse. She is also the daughter of a well-known Senator and since the board knows that this will become a media circus, they have no alternative, but to fire Dan.

What this does to Dan's emotional side of things is to consider all the possibilities that this situation could bring not only to himself but to his wife and two young sons as well. So Dan see's no other possibility than to end his life. This is where the story really gets interesting and what makes Rearview in my opinion a great short suspense thriller reminiscent of a Twilight Zone of Night Gallery episode.

In this part of the 7 Hours Series, Mike Dellosso does what he does best and that is bring the reader into his story and gets them to invest in this on an emotional level. Anyone could imagine what it would be like to be in this nightmare and then he twists it like no one can. A man in black appears just as Dan is on the verge of death and provides him with proposition. He can go back in time to any 7 hours in his past, move forward 7 hours in his future or do nothing and die now. Any of the options will end in his death but it is up to him to chose how to live his final hours.

Mike Dellosso is a master at weaving these types of story lines from his previous novels I've had the privilege to be able to read and I can highly recommend this one. There is a unique twist in this one and one that rings a personal message to Mike as well as anyone who reads this one. I received this eBook for my Kindle as a personal purchase and have to say I can't say enough great things about this and can't wait to finish the entire series! What choice would you make if you found yourself in that situation? I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars. It makes for a perfect easy read that feels like an entire novels worth in this short story and for those of you that love a great twist suspense thriller, then this is perfect for you!
