Navy Seal Noel
When the XO's daughter is abducted by what he believes is a drug cartel terrorists, Navy SEAL Will Gumble is asked to retrieve her. Knowing what is at risk to take on this off the record assignment will mean that Will will have no team to back him up or any authorization to act on behalf of the SEAL team to which he has been a part of. If he fails, it will undoubtedly mean the loss of his life, as well as that of Jessalynn McCoy. But it is a risk he is willing to take.
Jess was working as a bioscientist working on the effects of an airborne pathogen known as Morsyni. She was kidnapped and taken against her will to work on the project in a remote jungle. She has no idea where she is only that by doing this, millions will die if the pathogen is released into the air. Not to mention the facility where they expect her to do the work, is less than adequate. A high school science lab would offer more optimal conditions. She knows her father will do what he can to find a way to rescue her, so she tries to buy here time figuring out a way out of the highly guarded jungle compound. In fact the last person she believes will be coming would be Will.
After their tattered friendship that was broken when she was considering marrying his brother Sal, Jess decided to take up going to college and working on a degree to forget the man she had true feelings for. Only he decided to walk away from her and join the Navy. But that is just who shows up posed as an undercover scientist familiar with working with the Morsyni virus. Now between the two they will have just days to come up with a plan to figure out how to get the chemical and them to safety and back in the United States before it's too late.
I received Navy SEAL Noel by Liz Johnson compliments of the author for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions are strictly my own. This is the third book in the Men of Valor series from Liz Johnson and I have been blessed to read them all. This time the relationship between Jess and Will that we saw in the first novel A Promise to Protect has resurfaced once again to give closure to readers on the outcome of Jess and Will at last. I love how Liz Johnson executed this one and provided the outcome I was hoping for. The Love Inspired division of Harlequin Romance, gives readers the romance they are looking for in a Christian context. This one is the perfect size to tuck away in your purse to take with you whenever you find yourself with free time to read. For those of you that love a great action adventure with some Black Ops heroes along with the perfect touch of romance, you'll want to pick this one up. I rate this one a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Plague
"In 2008, a congressional commission warned, 'given a high-level of know-how needed to use disease as a weapon to cause mass casualties, the United States should be less concerned that terrorists will become biologists and far more concerned that biologists will become terrorists.'"
If you're looking for an edge of your seat suspense thriller that has the potential to become a reality dealing with creating genetically enhanced biological viruses that could be used as the ultimate in terrorist weapons, then check out the latest novel, Plague from H.W. "Buzz" Bernard. It really makes you as a reader consider the effects of someone with the knowledge to combine some of the world's deadliest virus' into the ultimate weapons without being able to fight back with a known cure. This one really had me pulling up websites and honestly checking out how much is fiction versus fact and it is chilling when you thoroughly do some research on your own.
In this novel, a lone terrorists with a strong background in molecular biology from studying and working in Russia and even the United States. Now armed with that knowledge of working with various strains of Ebola, of which there is no known cure, he has managed to create a mutated version that can be spread as easily through the air as the common cold or flu. After a successful test in Atlanta, he prepares to launch a full-scale attack that would make 9/11 look like child's play.
Richard Wainwright has been offered a job that brings him out of retirement to become the new temporary CEO of BioDawn, a pharmaceutical company that has various branches around the world. When he begins to investigate the financials and the background of the company, he finds himself at the wrong end of an assassin's lethal weapon. He's advised to simply stop looking into the company background any further and simply put his time in and collect a paycheck, but that is out of character for Richard who has a background as a former Marine and doesn't take to kindly to be asked to back off.
Dr. Dwight Butler is the leading expert for the Centers of Disease Control or CDC on what is considered Level 4 viruses and when a local hospital contacts him with what they believe to be a case of Ebola in the United States, his job is about to get very interesting and very dangerous. Soon he learns that this one case of Ebola has taken on characteristics that are unusual and he can't figure out how the virus is spreading so rapidly between the hospital staff, doctors and the family members of the victim. It's not supposed to spread like it is and if he can't figure it out, the Black Plague is about to be unleashed like never before in the United States and the effects will be devastating.
I received Plague by H.W. Buzz Bernard compliments of Pump Up Your Book Tours and Bell Bridge Books for my honest review. This is a chilling reminder of just how close we stand on how biological weapons could be used against us by terrorists in the very near and real future. It also teaches us how certain virus' such as Ebola can wreck havoc on an entire country and there still is currently no known cure for it. The potential for it to be used as a biological weapon is cause for concern and something I can only hope our country is potentially planning for. It seems like the greatest tragedies to befall us will come from the air. For those of you that love books with a twist on the ordinary but guaranteed to keep you thinking about things long after you've read them, you'll want to pick this one up. I rate this a 5 out of 5 stars and once again think that Buzz Bernard has hit a home run with this one. I hope there is a sequel to this one!

White Sleeper
Ever since 9/11, the US hasn't exactly been watchful in the ways it can once again be susceptible to another terrorist attack.
It all started when a white supremacist named Harlan Curran and his wife were killed by ATF agents. Left standing in his parents blood, their young son, Ben vowed that he would enact revenge on the government that killed them. When lawsuits failed, he made plans that would give him recognition and that would involve taking out the people who deserved to die in the process.
Ben Curran found himself in a lucky set of circumstances when his new neighbors turn out to be a sleep cell operating out of New York. When he confronts them with their lack of skills and that he knows what they are up to, he bargains with them to join forces and really make people sit up and take notice.
Ben is a highly educated man who will use all his skills to run a test group to see which viruses will kill the most people with the highest success rate. When three families turn up in hospitals, with bubonic plague, rabies and botulism poisoning, it seems like the world is spiraling out of control.
CDC Dr. Dave Richards is on his way out due to his dependence on alcohol. Now waiting his final review, he is asked by his boss, Dr. Root to head out to Arkansas to find out what is going on with these three families and to see if there is a connection to a possible terrorist threat. He will find himself partnered with FBI agent Paula Mushari, who will form a two-person team to find the answers to this threat before a white sleeper is released on the American population and along with it, the threat to kill millions.
In the suspense thriller, White Sleeper by David R. Fett and Stephen Langford, the reader is taken on a roller coaster ride in a countdown against the clock not only to find the sleeper cell and its members, but also what virus they plan on using and how it will be disbursed before they run out of time.
I received this novel compliments of Pump Up Your Book Tours for my honest review and could not put it down. This one will have you questioning just how plausible it is for something like this to strike in any city and just what would happen if it did. It will make you think twice about some things doctors recommend that are supposed to help us and can ultimately be used against us. I rate this one an exceptional 5 out of 5 stars and can't wait to see what these two amazing authors come up with next. Down right scary if you think about the possibilities!!!
