Blink

I don't think there isn't anyone who doesn't know what the Rapture is? From Hollywood movies, to books, everyone has heard of it, but what remains to be seen is who believes it is a real event? In the novel, Blink by S.A. Jewell, it opens with the event known as the Rapture from the Bible. In less than a blink of an eye, millions from everywhere simply vanish leaving no traces behind that they were even there. Most of the disappearances have happened in the United States with relatively little coming from the Middle East or China. Now the world has to answer the one question lingering in everyone's mind, "Where did everyone go? Will it happen again?"

As the world begins its downward spiral into chaos, and while the economies all over the globe try to struggle with the implications of millions simply vanishing into thin air, there are a remnant that know precisely what has happened and why they have been left behind. Now they will be the target in the years ahead that usher in the seven years of tribulation or wrath of God on an unbelieving world that despite all these global catastrophes, refuse to acknowledge Him and instead reject Him even further. Just as the Bible predicts in countless books from Revelation, to Daniel to Ezekiel and even the New Testaments, time is running out for a world looking for answers.

Marcus Junius, a charismatic leader from Italy soon realizes how he can profit from what is happening around the globe, since the vanishings have not impacted the European Union as much and realizes that the leader who can control chaos and bring about prosperity and peace when the world is out of control, will be the one that they will look to for answers. Little by little he capitalizes on the situation and soon finds himself forming a Federation that promises peace, security and prosperity for the nations that join. He even manages to pull off the impossible when he gets Israel to sign a peace treaty for at least the next seven years to ensure that no one wipes this nation off the face of the earth. But is it really all that people expect or is there something even more sinister about to be unleashed on the world?

I received Blink by S.A. Jewell compliments of Ambassador International Publishers. Since I have been a fan of Bible Prophecy and Eschatology, I LOVED this novels perspective on the events prophesied to take place in the future. I would have liked to have seen this one broken into a series of books since the story line is so consolidated to wrap seven years into one novel. The perspective and subsequent passages from the Bible are wonderful and hopefully will lead the reader to do their own research to see what the Bible has to say. I would easily give this novel a 4.5 out of 5 stars and only wish the novel was more in depth instead of so consolidated in the events that happen during the Tribulation period.

When Angels Cry

Are you a fan of the Left Behind Series? Are you a fan of Frank Peretti's novels? Wouldn't it be great it they were combined to make something truly unforgettable and life changing? Well MaryLu Tyndall has done just that in her latest novel When Angels Cry. It takes the spiritual warfare aspects of the unseen world we live in but most of us have no idea is happening all around us, and blends it in a futuristic End Times setting for her characters. Each chapter of the novel opens in a great Biblical scripture that highlights where these events spoken about in this novel can be found and even had myself opening up my own Bible to highlight these scripture references.

Angelica Smoke has the unique ability to be able to see into the Spiritual realm and can see exactly what is going on in the world around her that others don't. Working at the Mermaid Den as a cocktail waitress in a seedy bar where demons surround the customers she waits on, God reveals things to her as she spreads the gospel message and prays for those she serves. Often times, this results in salvation for that individual but in most cases she is simply planting seeds in their hearts. As a single mom, she has to do all she can to help raise her son Isaac, alongside her roommate Leigh and her son Joel. While Leigh still doesn't believe in God, Angelica keeps trying to convince her that what is happening in the world around them is all predicted by the Bible.

Daniel Cain is pastor of the Mega Church, Fort Lauderdale Church of Grace, and has worked his entire life to build up his flock, alongside his best friend Thomas. He believes in an inclusive church over the exclusive churches that have now been outlawed. Using the reformed Bible, the NWLV, New World Love Version, he believes his goals is to fill the seats, while giving them the message of God's love and grace over repenting over sin, and being saved. Despite the violate world around him, he is pushing for a position in Washington, perhaps even being a part of the New World Order heading up combining all into a single religion. He just doesn't expect his perfect world to come crashing down when Angelica comes back into his life. It's been 12 years since they were an item but both of them have changed and those old feelings will have to be pushed back despite the prophetic message that she brings to him, that he is not ready. Just what is that supposed to mean?

I received When Angels Cry by MaryLu Tyndall compliments of Random Press and the author. In accordance with the new FTC Guidelines for blogging and endorsements, you should assume that every book reviewed here at Reviews From The Heart was provided to the reviewer by the publisher, media group or the author for free and were received, unless specified otherwise. In a world where homeschooling is outlawed, home churches meet in secret, possession of an original Bible is cause for arrest, the times are getting shorter as the Bible has predicted. As angels sit back and watch the proceedings, they can only get involved if God allows it. So very few people are even aware how close they were to the end of days. A typical Saturday night at the Mermaid Den. Men and women numbing their pain and their consciences with alcohol until they gave way into every wicked impulse, opening the door to a multitude of demonic hosts lurking in the shadows. I love the way MaryLu uses events happening in our world today to highlight where we might be in biblical history pertaining to the Second Coming of Christ and the rapture prior to the Tribulation. This is such a wonderful MUST read book for anyone who is looking for a great novel that combines End Time Biblical Events and Spiritual Warfare all in one. For me, this one is a 5 out of 5 stars! I hope there is a second one coming soon!

The Coming Apostasy

Are we truly living in the Last Days? Is the imminent return of Jesus just around the corner? Is there a road map of sorts we can reference to see if we are and if so, how close? Many would say all the answers we need to know the signs of the end times are right inside the Bible. They are as clear as looking into the sky and knowing if rain is coming or if it will be a sunny day. We know as people living in this world, things are getting worse. They are far worse than they were 50 years ago or even 10 years ago and it would benefit us all to know what is coming next and just how close to the end we truly are.

In the book, The Coming Apostasy by Mark Hitchcock and Jeff Kinley, they both take us alongside the relevant events that the Bible predicts with 100% accuracy of what is happening now, what is coming and where we stand currently in light of End Times Prophecy. I am not conveying in any manner that a definite day and time are predicted, but if you are a follower of the Bible, Jesus did tell us that we would know the signs of those days drawing closer as well as you could tell spring from winter and I believe we, who are looking, are seeing them coming to some sort of culmination of not getting any better, but instead we have fallen so far from where we used to be and it appears as if there is no going back.

There is a growing apostasy happening within the Christian church and we see more and more signs of those turning from the truth of what the Bible has said, and instead casting aside some of the teachings of condemnation and judgement in light of what will grow their churches inside and satisfy what the the world wants in a church now and not what has always been. We see people accepting that all religions are in fact the same in such worldly signs such as COEXIST. We see Muslims trying to convince the church that we all do in fact worship the same God, but we know that is another worldly lie. We have seen some of the signs prophesied being fulfilled such as the regathering of the Jewish people, the rise of globalism, as well as others that continue to move into a growing culmination of the end such as the ratification of a peace treaty between the nation of Israel and her enemies; rumors of wars in the Middle East, rebellion of apostasy.

I received The Coming Apostasy by Mark Hitchcock and Jeff Kinley compliments of Tyndale House Publishers. The purpose of this book is to help the reader understand what apostasy is, to help you understand that it is surging all around us and is a a serious sign of the end times, to guard you from a spiritual shipwreck and the danger of sinking in your own faith, and finally to help you understand the truth so you can stay on course until Christ's returns. Many people pray today for a great revival, and though it may happen, no such revival is prophesied. On the contrary, according to Scripture, a great apostasy is coming and you might just want to pay attention to just how close we truly are. I absolutely LOVE this book and give it a 5 out of 5 stars in my opinion. I believe everyone needs to read this book and understand where we stand in regards to end times events and what are the signs we need to be aware of even in our own lives.

The Remnant

"The thing is, religion in the general sense of the word is about external, visible things - buildings, practices, art, music, convocations, ceremonies, observances, relics, texts and so on. Those make it easy for the Federation to identify a religious person. If they can see it, they can nail you for it. But I don't believe that's what the Jesus way is about. It's about the internal, the invisible, such as faith and connection with God. Visible things will ultimately emerge from invisible faith, things like concern and service for your fellow human beings. But why should the Feds have a problem with those things? They make for a healthy civilization." (pg 240).

Jesus promised that in the last days the signs of His coming would be as easy to see as the signs of a tree beginning to bloom, signify that Spring is coming. Yet what if the signs aren't so easy to read and some begin to wonder if they missed it completely or there would be more horrors to face in this world before He does come.

The year is 2069 and 90 percent of the world's population has been eliminated as well as most of the major cities around the world. Religion is to blame for being the catalyst to launch an all out attack on a global scale and the remaining 10 percent are not allowed to participate in anything that looks like religion. All religious books have been burned and any remaining copies will soon be confiscated by the Federation if found. All churches, mosques and temples have been converted to housing or government use buildings and anyone who does not wish to give up their religious rights are moved into camps known as Safe Zones.

While they can no longer worship publicly, they are kept being productive members of the zone by using whatever skills they possess to benefit those in the city and Federation. They are given the option of forgoing their religious rights and be re-educated in the Federations guidelines and can resume a better way of living at any time. But for those who don't, they remain locked away in the Safe Zones behind heavily protected gates and armed guards. If you manage to escape from these zones, you can't ever return. No one knows what lies outside the gates of the Zones, referred to as the Wilderness, but rumor has it that religious freedoms await in remote cities where the Federation has no control. Grant Cochrin along with his family and friends, make a plan to escape and find any Christians left on earth, but it will take all of them working together to ensure they are not caught. If the Federation finds them, they will be vaporized instantly. Escape seems to be their only hope to find a Bible left in the world somewhere and all that the family has is a remnant page from the Beatitudes but even that is vague in its interpretation.

I received The Remnant by Monte Wolverton compliments of CWR Press and Litfuse Publicity. I really love how this novel takes into consideration all religious groups from Muslims, Buddhist Monks, Catholics, and Christians as Grant tries to make sense of what lies beyond the Zones. Each area has their own religious groups running them and soon it is hard for those in this rag-tag team to know what is the real truth and what are the lies. Is there any hope for finding Christians left in the world? I absolutely love this novel as it places our religious beliefs to the truest test of our faith and just how far we are willing to go to find the truth of what we believe. For that reason I give this novel a 4.5 out of 5 stars and can't wait for the sequel.

Wake The Bride

Hard to believe that I've been studying the Book of Revelation for almost 30 years now and until recently never understood what I had been missing for quite some time. It took an in-depth, verse by verse, study of it to finally have that "A-ha!" moment where it clicked. Now I can honestly say that when I pick up books written on the Book of Revelation, I can view it with a biblical view instead of merely another book on Bible Prophecy.

Wake the Bride from author Jeff Kinley, conveys the beauty of what awaits believers and non believers alike one day in the not so distant future using the Book of Revelation and breaking it down in a simplified manner. This is NOT an extensive look into the last prophetic book of the Bible, but a wake up call that we are called to be ready when Jesus returns in the rapture, an event the Bible highlights must happen before the ushering in of the Tribulation Period, those 7 years of God's judgment and final call to those who dwell on the earth, to choose Him or perish forever in everlasting judgment being cast into the lake of fire.

While many would argue why such a loving God would offer this as our final destination, we must realize that God does not desire for any to spend an eternity in everlasting torment, but it is our choice that decides our own fate. We ourselves choose and thus the urgency for many to stop waiting and get right with God now, before they simply miss out and have to endure the Tribulation period foretold in Revelation, Daniel, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, Isaiah and other books of the Bible. This book calls us to search within our own lives as to just how ready are we? The letters to the seven churches in the Bible applied to the regional churches of Asia Minor in that day but is also a modern day look at evaluating the life of a believer even today. Jeff details one of those letters, the Church of Laodicea, which I believe we are seeing all over the world today, as churches put their Bible doctrine on the shelf in lieu of accepting all forms of religion and bypassing the less than desirable portions of the Bible out of fear of offending anyone.

He also takes readers into the heart of the Tribulation that is to come, the seven seals, the trumpets and bowl judgments and how that will impact the world possibly. One chapter I really enjoyed was the recent rise to such "heavenly" movies where people and children have claimed to have visited heaven but all their views are inconsistent with what the Bible describes heaven will be like and all their stories conflict with one another. Are we being set up for a great deception that will take us away from the truth of the Bible and the Jesus we need to know for our salvation?

I received Wake the Bride by Jeff Kinley compliments of Harvest House Publishers for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review, aside from a free copy of the book for my honest opinion. At little over 200 pages this will give readers a brief overview of the Bible Prophecy events from the Bible and I believe will encourage the reader to take their own personal journey through the Bible along the way as they research the various scripture references and other notable resources discussed in this book. For me, I rate it a 4 out of 5 stars, but I LOVE a book that really digs in deep to books like Revelation and Daniel. For those looking for a overview of what's to come and what we should be prepared for and focused on, this will definitely be worth it.

Why Would Jesus Come Back?

When you look at the state of the world around us, makes you wonder why Jesus would want to come back home. Kinda like a parent who returns home from a trip only to find their kids had one heck of a party while they were gone and left the home a complete mess. Isn't that what Jesus is likely to find when He comes back. What have we done with His place, since He has been gone and more to the point, why would He ever want to come back here?

Yet when you tell people Jesus is coming back, you will generally get one of two likely replies. (1) people will be happy and look forward to it, or (2) they aren't the slightest bit happy. Kinda like the teen who finds out their parents are suddenly coming home, much earlier than they expected and they haven't had time to fix things so they won't get in trouble.

But one thing is certain, because for those of us that believe in the Bible, we know that the promises made in it are 100% accurate and either have come true or will come true, simply because it hasn't happened yet.

Acts 1:7-11 ~ "He said to them, "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking up intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside the. "Men of Gailee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." (NIV).

This event obviously has happened yet, but the signs of the end times are being staged. So why does Jesus have to come back at all?

1. Political reasons. ~ Deuteronomy 32:8 ~ "When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided up all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel. " (NIV).

God has established the boundaries of nations. He gives them leaders as they are needed. There is no one in any form of government that will solve the issues the world is facing.

Matthew 24:3-7 ~ "As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" Jesus answered, "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, "I am the Christ,: and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom."(NIV).

The alignment of nations that will band together will need to happen. This is already happening with the United States of Europe or US of E since 1991. We know a great political leader will rise up as the coming anti-Christ. He will come in the place of Christ and seem to solve all the world's problems and reign over the ancient empires.

2. Societal Events ~ social ills and trends in society.

We know in the last days there will be a since of general lawlessness.

Matthew 24:10-12 ~ "At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold." (NIV).

We already see this happening in our cities and towns. Where people are suffering and yet no one is moved to do anything to help them. One woman veered off the road in Washington and many people saw her. Yet she remained in her car for over 8 days before anyone found her. She later died from her injuries. Why? Because people are growing cold to what is happening all around and they have lost the ability to care about people anymore.

We will see an increase in racial divisions.

There are simply too many examples to what we are seeing as a growing trend in racial divisions. In the Greek when the Bible speaks of 'kingdoms against kingdoms" it is actually the world ethnos, which is where we get the word ethnic from. Meaning ethnic groups will fight against ethnic groups. We fail to understand that we all bleed the same color. We need to preach the gospel and let God's Word speak for itself not as representatives like Rev. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton continue to pollute what God's Word has to say. We should be creating unity not division among the culture and ethnic groups. It is becoming a wedge in our society to create division. God is the biggest, when our lives our a mess.

There will be a rise in abhorrent sexuality.

This means there will be clear violations in the laws of nature, especially when it comes to sexual issues. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to clearly spell out that abhorrent sexuality among the same genders destroys the species. Two women can not produce off spring so the species will die, just like two men cannot produce offspring so they too will die off. Only with the increase in what is now acceptable, from television programming, movies, social media and more, is creating the message that clearly spells out, "Well that is just the way it is now."

Jesus stated that before He returns that the world will be like it was in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah and in the days of Noah:

Luke 17:26-30 ~ "Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating , drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed." (NIV).

There will be those who refuse to believe.

2 Peter 3:3-7 ~ "First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everyone goes on as it has since the beginning of creation. But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that times was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men." (NIV).

We are warned of what we need to be doing now. Not doing the things of the world, but looking into the Bible for the standards of lives we should be living.

2 Peter 3:11 ~ Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming."(NIV).

As we see the signs begin to grow in intensity and in frequency, know this. Jesus is coming back. Will you be ready when He does?

Countdown to the Apocalypse

Have you noticed the signs all around you, in the news that can only point to the fact we might be living the final days before Jesus Christ comes for his church? The Bible predicts it with such accuracy, you can't help but believe what is happening all around us with what Jesus told his disciples what would happen in the last days in Matthew 24 when they asked for signs that would foretell his coming.

There are five very specific signs that Jesus told His believers that we should be looking for. (1) Spiritual Deception, (2) International Conflict, (3)Natural Disasters, (4)Fierce Persecution, and (5) Widespread Apostasy. There are those that would argue that these things have happened as far back in history after the crucifixion and don't mean Jesus is coming back any time soon. Yet the Bible does warn that these signs will be like birth pains for a mother with child. They will begin to happen more frequently and with stronger intensity as a expectant mother nears the birth of her child. We can definitely see that these very things are happening right before our eyes.

Pastor Robert Jeffress is a pastor first to his church in Dallas and also a Fox News contributor who has written his book, Countdown to the Apocalypse. It provides readers with a biblical message that can't be ignored in light of the things happening in this country today, from widespread drought in California which will impact our agricultural food supply, to ISIS threats and beheadings of Christians all over the world, to the impact of diseases like Ebola. Now that our nation is on the verge of negotiating a nuclear agreement with Iran, and turning its back on Israel, we are unwittingly setting the stage for the fulfillment of a war against Israel by those nations the seek to wipe her off the face of the earth. While the timeline is slowly moving forward, this book highlights those passages of scripture that show us quite clearly that Bible prophecy is being fulfilled more this century than at any other time in history. The end result is one you don't want to miss.

I received Countdown to the Apocalypse by Robert Jeffress compliments of Faith Words, a division of Hachette Book Groups for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions contained here are strictly my own. I've been a huge Bible prophecy fan since becoming a believer and now more than ever, I believe more people need to be concerned with the rapid number of events that are all happening simultaneously that they can not be ignored. From extreme weather to the fall of our own economy, God told us to watch for signs that would be as apparent as a fig tree beginning to bloom that points towards summer. It will be that obvious for those that know what to look for. Trust me, you want to be prepared for what is coming and that is why I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars in my opinion.

As It Was In The Days of Noah

After the latest Hollywood movie to launch onto the big screen, Noah seems to be the talk about town. There are so many critics that argue just how accurate the story was to the biblical story, but one can hardly argue with the fact that in almost every single race and culture that there are around 270 versions of the story of the great flood. Coincidence or Godly intervention? I say the later!

What I do love, is the book that I happened to have found primarily through numerous advertisements on my Facebook page, As It Was In The Days of Noah from author Jeff Kinley. I wrote to him and kindly asked for a complimentary copy to review as the Bible's story of Noah is kept to about 3 chapters in Genesis beginning in chapter 6, but I knew that there had to be more to the study of Noah's life. How did Noah become so righteous if the entire world was declared by God to be destined for destruction based on their sinful lives? What was the importance of rain being used to judge mankind? Who helped build the ark? What was the significance of Methusaleh in Noah's life? More importantly, what does all this mean for the future of the world?

I have to say, when I got the book in the mail, I was surprised at how small the book was. I was hoping for a thick book filled to the brim with research and reference for me to follow along with my Bible. Yet God is amazing in using people like Jeff Kinley to shine the light in the dark places, one doesn't need a whole lot of light, just a bit to make it dark no more and that is just what you get in this book. So much information along with great footnotes that I was diligently following along with my Bible to see for myself how often I have glossed over the story of Noah, the Ark and the Great Flood and missed all the connecting pieces of the puzzle and what it reveals is chilling to the core.

We all know, as believers, that the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, will happen when the world becomes like it was in the days of Noah.

Matthew 24:36-38  "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone."For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah."For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark."

So if you are like me, always watching for signs of the coming of Jesus, you want to go back into our history to see what kinds of things were happening in Noah's day. All I know, is that I don't want to be here, when that happens. Even though our world with all its violence, murder, rape, sexual crimes, and people now looking the other way when wrong things are committed now saying that those things are right, we are literally sitting on the cusp of the Second Coming of the Lord more so now than at any other time in history. So it is too late? Is there any hope? You might want to pick this book up for yourself and see what it has to say along with your Bible. All I know is that despite the issues concerning Hollywood's take on the story of Noah, there have been more hits on Bible applications and websites dealing with Noah than ever before. God can truly use anything to get His message across. God is patient wishing none to perish, but even He has a limit to just how long that will be. And it may be much sooner than you ever thought.

I received As It Was In The Days of Noah by Jeff Kinley compliments of Harvest House Publishers and the author himself for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions expressed are strictly my own. I have utilized this book in conjunction with my own Bible for a complete indepth study on what the Bible says about Noah and the preview of earth's final days. Being a huge lover of Bible prophecy and End Times events, this one hit a home run in my book. You can't argue the facts that Jeff does such an exceptional job at explaining like the meaning behind Methusaleh's name and the significance of his death. I never made the correlation to Noah's family tree to understand how he was raised, and so much much more. I highly encourage you to pick up a copy of this book and begin your own personal journey of discovery and this can also be used in conjunction with a small group Bible Study as well. Hands down I easily give this one a 5 out of 5 stars and will be re-reading this one quite a few more times and keeping it in a place of reference close at hand.
