In the book, Say Something by Peggy Moss, a child learns a lesson about bullying and teasing the hard way. She isn't willing to say something when she sees it happening to kids all around her at school and on the bus but when it happens to her, she suddenly views it differently.

This is a great book for any parent to read, especially now when this subject is happening to either our own kids or kids we know. This book helps kids realize that they can do something to help and that this type of behavior shouldn't happen to anyone. I can't think of a better way to discuss this subject with our kids than this wonderfully illustrated story that puts it in a way that hits home with our kids.

I received this wonderful book, compliments of Tilbury Publishing House for my honest review and think no home with kids should be without this book. Great for youth groups at church, day care, and schools I can definitely see this as a great way to discuss this topic to our children and those we know. This book rates a 5 out of 5 stars in my opinion and has a place in our permanent library!

The Goat Lady

Two children and their mother, new to the neighborhood, befriend Noelie Houle, an elderly lady who raises goats. Her other neighbors bemoan the "Goat Lady's" rundown house and barnyard animals, but the children see how she cares for her goats, they hear her stories, and they come to love her.

For many years Noelie has provided goat's milk for people who need it and has sent her extra goat kids to poor people in poor countries through Heifer International. The children's mother paints a series of portraits of the "Goat Lady," and her art show at the local town hall helps the rest of the community see Noelie's kindness and courage.

In this wonderful children's book, The Goat Lady by Jane Bregoli, children will learn that what they see on the outside isn't always what is going on inside. Looks can be deceiving much like judging a book by it's cover. The children come to learn about the wonderful old lady as well as the whole town and soon things that bothered people in the beginning didn't bother them as much any longer.

I received this book compliments of Tilbury House Publishers for my honest review and have to say, I loved this heartwarming tale of the Goat Lady and why she does the things she does. It's an important reminder that it isn't so much what you have in this world that makes you important as what you do with what you have instead. I rate this story a 5 out of 5 stars and can see this becoming a wonderful classic children's story.

In the book, Keep Your Ear On The Ball by Genevieve Petrillo, the children learn how to deal with a child who is very independent and doesn't want his disability of being blind to allow him from doing things like the other kids. It's only through seeing things from Davey's perspective that the children learn how to help Davey play kickball by being team players and allowing Davey to be just like one of them.

I received this book compliments of Tilbury House Publishers for my honest review and think that every child should read this book. It shows what can be done when the kids work together as a team instead of treating someone differently because of his disability. What a great gifts for any parent or grandparent as well as for schools and church youth groups as well. This is a perfect 5 out of 5 stars.

Keep Your Ear On The Ball

One of Us

I received the book, One of Us by Peggy Moss, compliments of Tilbury House Publishers for my honest review, and must say what a great way to teach children that fitting in at school doesn't always have to mean changing things about you. This book was perfect for my own 11 year old that is struggling all the time to fit it, based on what kids wear or who they listen to, what games they have, or even who their other friends are.

What I enjoyed the most, is that the moral story of this book, is that you can be yourself and show kids what you are all about instead of trying so hard to change to make yourself like them that you lose yourself in the process. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with kids, or even perfect gift for grandparents, youth groups at church and storytime at day cares! This book rates a perfect 5 out of 5 stars.

The illustrations are beautiful and I would recommend this book to kids as early as 6 just entering school. Hardcover and 32 pages makes this a perfect story time favorite!

The Lunch Thief Giveaway and Review

Somebody's been stealing the lunches from the desks of the kids!

It kindly reminds us that appearances may not always be what they seem. I would highly recommend this book to any child from 6 and up, and would rate it 5 out of 5 stars. The illustrations are colorful and the book is easy to read for 30 pages.
