Deadly Decision

"Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divinations or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritualist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord..." Deuteronomy 18:10-12a

The Bible pretty much spells out that most of the stuff we are seeing in the world today whether on TV, movies or even played out in real life, has eternal consequences when we walk blindly about into them, allow them to permeate our thoughts and actions and often times, associate with someone who does, under the premise that that are wearing a "Christian" label. But like lambs to the slaughter we can all be misled.

"Let me tell you right off, I don't believe in ghosts. I never have and never will. Not good ones, anyway. But some things are  hard to explain. If you have ever considered getting involved in the occult, you need to hear my story. It may change your mind. ~ Bill Iver."

Deadly Decision by Regina Smeltzer is a novel dealing with the supernatural and what happens when one man's faith in what he sees and what he knows will be called into question. Both the believer and non believer struggle to overcome things they don't understand but seem to be happening where only Bill Iver can see them and no one else can explain. When Bill arrives to help his daughter Trina and her husband Ted out in renovating a dilapidated old home into a future bed and breakfast, he knew there was more to the home than what he could see. He just never imagined that upon visiting the homes attic, he would see two young boys, one of whom is wearing a chain around his neck and fastened to a beam in the attic. Believing these are real children, when he approaches them his hand passes right through them and they vanish. Not imagine trying to tell your daughter and her husband what you just witnessed.

Bill knows as a Christian, there are no such thing as ghosts only demons masquerading as ghosts, but then learns that one of the boys has been reported missing by the owner of the home. Has Bill just been given insight into the unseen world and has Jimmy crossed over to the other side and is now dead? Bill begins to wonder just how he can process what is happening in the house and of course, Trina and Ted are a bit apprehensive to Bill's visions of ghosts but then when strange things begin to happen inside the home, it might be possible there is more in the home than what one can see.

I received Deadly Decision by Regina Smeltzer compliments of Pelican Book Groups and Net Galley. This is definitely a suspense thriller and found myself wondering why I chose to read this the one night I was home alone. Yet it is so nice knowing that this genre is still available to educate and also entertain those of us that like a little bit of spookiness this time of the year without all the evil and gore that go along with it. I love how Regina orchestrated the story line and loved how she used situations that almost everyone might utilize to figure out what is going on in the home. To uncover what it is, you will have to pick this one up to read, but trust me, this one worked out brilliantly. Just the right amount of suspense to keep me engaged and wanting to know how it would all turn out. For me, this one rated a 4 out of 5 in my opinion.

The Spirit of Rejection

"The only way to get rid of them for good is through truth. The person must submit to truth to stay free. This strips them of their legal right to be there. Fighting demons without removing their right to be there is like trying to get rid of a mighty oak tree by plucking its leaves."

I have to say with all honesty, that this was the hardest novel to read, not in terms of the writing style but based on the content. This one really hit home for me in my own personal walk. You see at 17 before I was a Christian, I had an abortion. It was for the same reason the characters in The Spirit of Rejection by Eric M Hill wanted one, but mine was successful in the procedure was complete but the internal torment never ends. Even as a believer and through confession of my sin, the enemy runs rampant in my mind with this situation and it brought me back to that moment but from another perspective. One in the spiritual sense I had never considered. That unseen realm between demons and angels, good over evil and that struggle between our salvation and our unsaved souls.

For anyone who has ever had an abortion or better yet considering one, read this novel. I hope in the end, you will make a different choice than I did, because I can tell you that this decision will haunt you forever. The emotional upheaval women go through but don't speak of, haunts us in those quiet moments and it truly is like living with hell on earth. This novel takes us into the heart of Becca Simmons who was rejected by her birth parents Heather and Vincent before she was born, and after two failed attempts to abort her, the spirit of rejection took up residence in her heart. Afterwards she was mistreated horribly by her birth parents and when her sister was born, she garnered all the attention that should have been Becca's.

She struggles with trying to find ways to appeal to her parents love, but it only comes back rejected. She feels unwanted, alone, hopeless, and a dozen other emotions and soon each demon takes up residence within her as the angels of mercy and truth intervene only when prayers from her grandparents reach out to her. They don't know the horrors that Becca has had to endure as she keeps them locked away only to face their onslaught and torment in the darkest hours of her day. There are so many take aways from this novel that really have forever changed me, the biggest being that the trials and persecutions we face are nothing in light of an eternity damned in hell without our eternal salvation in Christ and that is the theme throughout this novel. I don't think I can ever look at another human life without considering what I garnered through this novel. It is remarkable and truly life changing in its content and how beautifully it is orchestrated.

I received The Spirit of Rejection by Eric M. Hill compliments of SunHill Publishers for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation aside from an eBook copy of this novel in exchange for my honest and unbiased personal opinions. The theme of this novel is perspective on the redeeming qualities that can only come from Jesus Christ no matter what we have done and gone through, Jesus can give us that new start in life. The alternative is chilling and not something I would wish upon my worst enemy. I rate this novel a 5 out of 5 even though it brought me to tears more times than I could count, it has forever embedded itself in my heart and soul. This is the second novel in the Demon Stronghold Series, the first being The Spirit of Fear, and fans of such Spiritual Warfare fiction like Frank Peretti will absolutely LOVE this author and series! This novel is currently only available in eBook formats for now.

Awakened

Sometimes we need to understand that there are certain things that can happen in this world, that are motivated by evil. While we may not see it, it exists in an unseen realm at times. Some movie fans flock to horror films like Paranormal Activity, thinking that is is simply a movie, but in reality, things like what you see happening on the big screen can and do happen in real life and the consequences can be life altering.

The latest DVD release from Word Films, Awakened, and isn't for the faint of heart or those who dislike movies on the supernatural. In this movie, Jacob Harker (Rob Boltin) is a newspaper reporter who has been laid off, just as his new wife Haley (Gwendolyn Edwards) announces she is pregnant. He insists that it will only be a matter of time until he is working again. Until then they move into a rental house that will offer them a bit of a break in their finances owned by Webster Cain (Michael Monks). He advises the couple that the basement still has old things he hasn't gotten around to cleaning out, but they are welcome to do it and utilize the space.

As Haley leaves for work, Jacob attempts to work on clearing out the basement space and uncovers an old reel to reel recording from Carol James (Hannah Hughes), who was involved in a car accident at an early age, that claimed the life of the up and coming new singer. As Jacob uses his investigative skills to dig deeper into the mystery of who Carol James really was, he finds himself becoming more and more obsessed with the ghost from the past, one that has a personal interest in Jacob and attacks Haley creating both fear and distrust in the Harker's home. It will take Haley using all her resources of faith to fight back against the evil that has found a home in their lives.

I received Awakened by Word Films compliments of Edify Media Inc and Word Films for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation aside from a free copy of this DVD in exchange for my honest review. While the message is relevant, I believe the film lacks in the editing and production of the film. The sound quality of hearing the actors voices over the music is downright irritating and shows what a bigger budget might be able to pull off in the way this film attempts to get its message across. For me, the suspense element was there but the over all production quality just wasn't and for me, garners a 3 out of 5 stars in my opinion. Approximately running time of this DVD is 93 minutes. The message is what is important and that comes across pretty clear!

The Spirit of Fear

Eric M. Hill is an amazing author who writes in my favorite genre! I guess most contemporaries would label his books at Speculative Fiction, but to me it's almost like Christian horror with a Godly message behind it all. If you have ever wondered if there was an issue with things like Near Death Experiences, reincarnation, sèances, telekinesis, mental telepathy, clairvoyance, crystal balls, mediums, fortune tellers, or even astral projection, I would encourage you to pick up this book which is the first book in the Demon Stronghold Series, and starts with the Spirit of Fear.

In this world while it might be hard to believe for some, there is an unseen realm where spirits dwell. Angels and demons. Good and evil. The things we tend to get involved with however seemingly innocent could very well have tragic spiritual consequences without you ever knowing about it and then wonder why things in your life are spinning out of control. You have opened a door into your body that allows demons to take control over the aspects that you experimented with without realizing it.

In The Spirit of Fear, Daniel and Elsie are struggling to find resolution in their marriage especially considering that Elsie's family suffers from a mental disorder no one has been able to diagnosis because the women in the family are so afraid of what it might be they have resolved to live out their fears in the safety of their homes. It has been something that has been passed down through the generations beginning with her grandmother and now just days before her thirty-sixth birthday Elsie wonders if it will strike her as well. All she knows is that after years of studying to become a neurosurgeon, she quit and walked away just before she finished her final years of school. She was afraid she wouldn't succeed and that was what was causing the fiction between her and Daniel, both devout atheists. They had dreamed of the perfect life together and literally everything was falling into place until this.

Daniel knew this was not something he would live with especially if it impacted their daughter Amanda who was suffering from nightly night terrors until her twin sister Anna, prayed over their daughter and the fears seemed to have left. He isn't sure what is going on but like other members in Elsie's family, he isn't sure he can handle her spending her days hid in a home afraid to go out anywhere. What kind of life is that? When Elise and Amanda have a fateful encounter with an old woman at Starbuck's things begin to shift in the spiritual realm for both better and worse. For Elise, she isn't ready to accept that there is a God or that there is anything wrong with her. She vows that she can handle whatever life deals her on her own without anyone or any God's help. Soon she will learn that without God's help and dabbling in your own research into fighting this generational curse will take more than she has and might cost her everything she holds dear.

I received The Spirit of Fear by Eric M. Hill compliments of SunHill Publishers for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation, aside for a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest and personal review. I absolutely LOVED this new series and can only imagine how far Eric will take this one. The most exciting part about this was thinking how wonderful it might be to have my name added in this series, and got a divine surprise when the old women in the book went by Miss Malak, my maiden name. I've always known that it has meant messenger or angel so it was super nice to see that when I least expected it. The best part of this book is the awareness of how innocent things like I mentioned in the opening paragraph can be and what effects it has on the person who is doing them without their knowledge. Hopefully this will be picked up by lots of believers and non believers alike and lives will be forever changed. For me, I'd rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars.

Trial by Fire

"These have come so that your faith - of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire - may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls." ~ 1 Peter 1:7-9

If you have ever wondered if there is a world within and around our own that can not be seen with human eyes, then look no further, for the Bible tells us that this unseen world exists. One in which demons and angels dwell and can either benefit humans for good or evil depending on the eternal state of their souls. Eric M. Hill has woven a world that enables the reader to see that realm and see the influence it can have in our lives. While some may chalk this up as another exceptional fantasy novel, believers in Jesus Christ, know this is true. Fans of Frank Peretti will love the Fire Series, and with it the second novel, Trial by Fire. Since this is part of a trilogy, it would only benefit the reader to read them in order as the characters are ongoing and you need to understand things from the first novel to understand where this one is going.

Trial by Fire takes readers into the culmination of what was slated to be the city of Atlanta's destruction by disease and plague but was thwarted by Jonathan Banks and Edwin Styles who rally together to fight the world unseen to most by is wrecking havoc on those around them. Beginning with Edwin's church. Since the initial plot from the demon known as the Mighty Bashnar failed, he has obtained heavenly permission from God to enact the Job strategy on those whom he calls his enemies. Like Job from the Bible, the Mighty Bashnar is given limitations to how far he can carry out his demonic plan and since there are those within the Styles family who have yet to give their lives to God, it's a no hold barred feast.

With only the death of their son Christopher fresh in their mind, Edwin is losing sight of his faith as his family begins to become victims of a paranormal activity that has been orchestrated from hell against them. If he can't wake up before its too late he will lose more than just his family but the entire community in which his church resides. Jonathan isn't going to be as much help as before because he has his own spiritual battle he must face when his wife's mother falls into a coma that doctors are less than optimistic she will recover from. Knowing he has healed others, his wife Elizabeth begs him to heal her and when it seems that isn't likely to happen is willing to take matters into her own hands with another healer who promises results.

I received Trial By Fire by Eric M. Hill compliments of SunHill Publishers for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation aside from a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest and personal review of this book. All I can say is just when you think Eric can't delve any deeper into the spiritual realm, you find yourself blown away again. This is a well written and divinely conceived novel that will cut through the cords of the deceptive mind and only with a mind willing to hear the truth is it all revealed. This is not a book the enemy wants you to read because then you will see with the clarity and perception of heaven and prayer will become something more than a passing thought but one you fight clearly on your knees with your Bible wide open. This one deserves a heavenly 5 out of 5 stars and now I can't wait to finish the trilogy with Saints on Fire, something I hope I'll become at the conclusion of this series. It is already impacting my own personal spiritual walk in many impactful ways. The first book in the series is Bones of Fire.

Bones of Fire

Whatever happens in this world one truth remains even though we can not see it. There is a war happening in the spiritual realm between angels and demons and they influence what we do, think and say on a daily basis without even realizing it. For a believer in Jesus, we know that our most powerful weapon is the Word of God and prayer, yet we fail to see how these two impact the invisible world that can make all the difference in our lives. Spiritual warfare fiction has long been a favorite of mine since first reading Frank Peretti's This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness and seeing the overlap between the physical and spiritual world and how we can impact them for good or for evil.

I am so thrilled to offer you another unique find of mine recently and that is Eric M. Hill's newest series of books, The Fire Series and with the first novel Bones of Fire. If you loved Peretti's, you'll feel right at home here with this one. If you are not a believer of Christ, then you will simply chalk this book off to another fantasy series, but I pray that that will not be the case and you will dig a little deeper in your faith and discover a world that exists to the unseen eye that influences us to act and do things we may not even consider.

Edwin Styles is the pastor over a small church within the heart of Atlanta and one he was more than comfortable with as his congregation and it's members had fallen into the same routine of sorts lately so they weren't really experiencing any real growth within the church but it maintain a level of profitability that kept the board members content. No need to change the ways things were going. When they agreed to bring on Jonathan Banks as a speaker they were not concerned at all that anything would happen, but that was all the spark that would be needed to not only create a stir within the church community but begin the spiritual battle that would divide more than church members but family households as well.

Jonathan Banks, was a well renown missionary and had traveled the world over multiple times but was a truly dedicated man of God. A modern day Paul if you will who believed that it was his job to shine the light into the dark places and bring spiritual apathy out of the churches when called. It was just that calling he felt that God has placed upon him when agreed to speak at the church and one that would set the stage for a revival that would rock the nation beginning in Atlanta first. When he spoke that night, not only did he bring miraculous healings to the church members who came to hear him but to those who rallied to the event because of what they had heard. Jonathan would point out to Edwin that what he was doing was impacting the kingdom of darkness more than the kingdom of light by believing the miracles and the power of prayer was simply something from the Bible but not anything people did any more of.

It will be the war that will claim more than one life of those in the community as the battle of good and evil begins to wage war in the world the humans can not see but can impact. It seems that Edwin was gearing all his messages to what the board members and church wanted to hear for fear of offending anyone so all his messages revolved around what was a positive message and very reminiscent of the church of Laodicea from the Bible. But is it too late to change old patterns or is this simply another church the enemy will claim as a trophy for his wall of shame?

I received Bones of Fire by Eric M. Hill compliments of SunHill Publishers for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation aside from a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest and personal evaluation. Whenever I read books like this one I am reminded how little we do prayer as individuals and as churches at time. What a difference it makes in the world we cannot see but often times impacts us. "A tablespoon of prayer was more powerful than man's atomic bomb." "Real revival brings people face to face with the holiness of God. It penetrates the darkness of sin and cuts away our perversions." There are so many take aways from this book as a Christian, it has renewed the bones of fire within myself. No longer will I take for granted the ability to pray for my family and friends, community and the government. This is what is lacking in the world today because our answer will not come from picking another worthy president but in returning back to the God who is the able to do all things in this world. Truly an eye opener to anyone who wants to know what is really going on behind that argument that you are having in your home. I would rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and have already started on the sequel Trial by Fire, which is the second book in the series. These will be coming to paperback soon, but for now are available in electronic form only.

Trials and Tribulations

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." ~ Ephesians 6:12

Such a powerful statement but one so easily dismissed by most the world. We have a tendency to see what we want to see and to blame God when bad things happen in the world, while the real enemy remains unseen and moving forward in his plans to deceive and destroy those in the world before his time runs out. In her first novel in the Windy Ridge Legal Thriller Series, Rachel Dylan introduces us to Trials and Tribulations. I had first seen this book through Facebook ads of all places and have always been a huge fan of books that deal with spiritual warfare! This one is perfect for those looking for that duality in story lines between the unseen and seen world we live in.

Olivia Murray has been hired by Astral Tech as their attorney in a case defending them against an alleged theft of a New Age app from their competitor Optimism. It will take more than her skills as an attorney to win this battle since both companies and their employees deal with New Age mysticism like witchcraft, meditation and demonic activity as if it is simply part of their lives without conscience thought of what they are truly dealing with. In fact, as a believer in Jesus, Olivia wonders if this is something she should be getting involved with as a Christian and if God really has plans for her to take this case. Especially when the attacks become spiritual and work on the very core of her faith.

Her opposing counsel is Grant Baxter which Optimism has retained as their lawyer and are alleging the theft came when a partnership between two of the employees who were involved in a personal relationship went south. The only thing that is standing in the way is that Grant is not a believer and therefore fair game for those who dabble in the dark arts. Since he isn't saved as a believer, Grant soon experiences his own spiritual attack but doesn't understand what is happening and soon confronts Olivia with help to figure out what is really going on. He isn't ready to accept any type of spiritual anything as to what is happening and writes it off as stress or working to hard.

It will take more than just their skills as attorneys to get to the bottom of what is truly going on and how it impacts both of their lives not just professionally but spiritually as well. Even a well meaning intern is sucked into the lure of these New Age companies with the promise that she can have more than she ever imagined if she is willing to be open to new ideas and see that prosperity is within reach if you only want it. What will happen to the town of Windy Ridge if either of these companies is allowed to go unchecked and how many more young people will be lured into the dark world of the supernatural through their combined efforts?

I received Trials and Tribulations by Rachel Dylan compliments of NYLA publishing for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation, aside for a free copy of this novel, in exchange for an honest and personal review. I absolutely love this novel and applaud Rachel for taking a chance in writing a story line like this one. It won't be a favorite of those not willing to believe that such a spiritual world exists and that we are subjected to forces of good and evil by where our faith stands in this world. It is very eye opening to see just how easily it is to get involved in the dark spiritual world and how hard it can be to get out once you enter. I can't wait to see what lies ahead in her future novels. For me, this one was a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Isolation

Warning: Do NOT read this book into the late night hours, it will seriously creep you out and make you wonder what every single noise in your house is, and making it extremely difficult to sleep without thinking about what you have read. If you love being scared right to the end of a great suspense thriller with a wicked twist, then by all means pick this one up. It was a rough night last night after I read it just before bed.

It is definitely a novel you won't be able to put down. From the first to the last page, the suspense only intensifies and you have to keep reading it to know how it will all turn out. I love that Travis Thrasher writes novels like this, because before becoming a solid believer in Jesus, these are the kinds of books I read. Not the slasher novels, but the ones dealing with the supernatural world, because somewhere in the back of your mind, you know that it is all possibly true and it could and has happened. This is why these novels and movies work so well to their target audience group.

This one is about the Miller family who has recently returned from a missions trip in Papua New Guinea and has come away from that place forever change and a bit separated at the seams. James Miller and his wife Stephanie are feeling the strains of being married and coming back after what they dealt with regarding the supernatural evil in the village where they served. Is it possible that they simply didn't leave it all behind, or is there another more deeply buried reason from Stephanie's pasts that are causing her to have the most unreal nightmares of seeing things in her home that she swears is real, only to come to find out she's been sleepwalking. It is causing a division in the family even among the children that is bringing fear into their home.

James learns about a lodge nestled away up in the Smokey Mountains that is being designed for us for missionary families returning from their trips as a way of getting back to the real world and the 45,000 square foot mansion is just waiting for them to be the first family to try it. The only other people staying there are the caregivers of the lodge an elderly couple by the name of the Petersons. The only restriction is that the north wing is locked as the original owners strive to move some of the personal belongings that remain in the lodge. Sounds like the perfect retreat right? Well you'll just have to join the family to see how it all works out in the end.

I received Isolation by Travis Thrasher compliments of the author, himself, as he knows what a huge fan I am of his others series like Solitary and the Books of Marvella. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review, aside from a free copy of this novel and the opinions are strictly my own. Fans of Stephen King, Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti will absolutely have to pick this one up. It is definitely a 5 out of 5 in the way of suspense, horror and all the elements that readers love when they pick up a book like this. They want to be scared right to the end, and the part that I love about Travis Thrasher's writing style is he doles out pieces of suspense a small bit at a time, so you seriously don't know what is coming or what lies behind the locked doors and secret passages in the lodge known simply as Edge Hill.

Rise of the Fallen

Angels were created long before humans were and as such, they have been there to witness the creation of the world. They hold some valuable positions in the Heavenly Realm, some act as messengers like the Archangel, Gabriel, others are warriors like the Archangel, Michael and still others have found another purpose like Lucifer, once the most beautiful of all of God's created angels before he believed he was higher in authority than God and succeeded in persuading a third of the heavenly angels to follow him to the earth.

In the amazing new young adult series from Chuck Black, Wars of the Realms, Rise of the Fallen is the second book to make its way into the series. While I was anticipating a continuation of sorts from the first novel, Cloak of the Light, this was a very different sequel. In this one, Chuck takes readers back in time to the creation of the world and showcases how the rebellion of the fallen took place and how it will subsequently impact the lives of the characters we find in this series. From the initial rebellion, to the many events in history that showcase how evil has tried to take precedence over the humans God so lovingly created from that moment in the Garden of Eden with Eve, to the corruption that impacted the God's decision to cleanse the Earth with the flood.

While this is merely written from a fictional perception, Chuck references biblical facts through the use of bold text and a great reference at the conclusion of the book that highlights the biblical implications used to complete the storyline. In this novel, we see how an angel Validus who was the last created angel feels less than worthy considering his angelic role at first, not a warrior, not a messenger, he finds himself in without a place among God's elite until the fall of Lucifer. He is then assigned a role before the birth of Jesus Christ, as a warrior angel to help control the evil that is taking both human lives and angelic lives in the spiritual and physical realms. He soon finds allies with a group of angels known at the One Hundred who befriend him and make him feel like a part of God's plan. It won't be until the rebellion in Heaven when Validus will have to make up his own choice to be part of God's plan or find his calling in Lucifer's domain on earth.

The novel is written as a chronological look back into the history of earth and how evil might have played a role in being instruments of the fallen to use humans to gain an upper hand in taking over the earth. It moves slowly forward to the present where we find Validus has been assigned a new role that of an assistant guardian to watch over Drew Carter, the main character in the first novel. It is through the marriage of these two novels that the reader can see what is happening though the eyes of the angels in the spiritual world while at the same time, connecting these events to the first novel in a quick look back before the end of the book. Now the two stories are complete and can move forward to the final epic battle between good and evil in both world in the next novel in the series.

I received Rise of the Fallen by Chuck Black compliments of WaterBrook Multnomah Publishers for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions expressed here are strictly my own. I absolutely love how Chuck decided to write this novel because there is so much information you want to pass along before you move your story forward for readers to truly understand the impact that demons and angels have in our lives as both believers and non believers in Jesus Christ. It is truly eye opening and made me really consider just how much goes on in our daily lives where we are simply unaware and just how powerful prayer really is. Now I can't wait for the next novel in this exciting new supernatural spiritual warfare series and one I can easily give a 5 out of 5 stars too!

Sons of God

There is a small section in the book of Genesis, chapter 6, that very few people understand as they read it. For some, it's simply words in the Bible that they fail to understand the meaning behind the words "sons of God." For an avid Bible student, it refers to the fallen remnant of angels that fell to Earth during Lucifer's rebellion in Heaven. In order to further pollute the world with unparalleled sin, the fallen angels or demons took on human form and married daughters of women. The offspring of these relationships resulted in a creation called Nephilim, half man, half demon. But those were all but destroyed when God called forth the great flood and saved only 8 people, Noah and his family. But it is possible that something of this magnitude could still happen even today?

In Mike Dellosso's book Sons of God, he takes what he refers to as a theological thriller, which unleashes a few themes that run the length of his fictional novel about that very thing happening in a small town of Forest Ridge Pennsylvania, and impacting the Grace Bible Church and it's pastor Scott Davies in ways they could have never seen coming. Fans of spiritual warfare and supernatural fiction will absolutely LOVE the direction Mike took this storyline. Scott is dealing with his own personal demons as he struggles to deal with the loss of his wife Jess, three years ago. He doesn't realize how hard it will be to explain the presence of evil he both sees and feels when a trio of young men suddenly take an interest in three of the young women attending his church.

With visions of romance and love in their eyes, all three unexpectedly announce to Pastor Scott their intention on marriage to these three young men. While Scott can't explain his distrust of what is happening, he tries to encourage them to attend premartial counseling to ensure a successful marriage, but that is not what is on the minds of Jason, Josh and Brian and they manage to weave quite a web of destruction both for Scott and the people of Forest Ridge. Only time will tell if Scott will have enough faith in God to go to war with an ancient enemy!

I was not provided with any monetary compensation for a favorable review for Sons of God and the opinions expressed here are my own. I've read quite a few of Mike's novels and some how missed this one. Being a huge lover of spiritual warfare and supernatural suspense fiction, this one fell right into my book lovers heart. There is such a great element of taking the creation of the Nephilim and bringing it into the possibility of recreation in modern times. We can only hope this will remain a fictional storyline and one that history hopefully will not repeat, but you never know what the future brings as we race closer to the end times. I easily give this one a 5 out of 5 stars in my opinion.

Real Science Proves the Bible

If you have noticed the number of paranormal movies that have been launched into theaters lately and the rise of shows that cast ghost hunting in a positive light, you may not be aware of what is really happening. There are simply so much those shows and movies don't convey to you and the reality is the danger involved in not only watching them, but taking them to a new level and emulating what they see on those shows and wind up with more than they expected.

Lisa Grace highlights the dangers of ghost hunting, demons, paranormal activities, and hauntings in her latest book, Real Science Proves the Bible. She backs up what we are being shown in regards the reality of the unseen world with what science is just beginning to back up in regards to appearances of angels, to quantum particles, from plasma and the supernatural to the unseen realm where angels and demons dwell. Science is just now beginning to understand through the use of instruments that measure temperature changes, voice recordings, electro magnetic devices, laser grid fields, and better detectors would soon be created with technology evolving to have a better understanding at what we are looking for.

The problem is that people are being led astray in believing they can communicate with the dead, that ghost exist, that houses can be haunted, and even that your loved ones still visit you from beyond the grave. What is really happening is that the fallen angels that have been cast from heaven due to their rebellion and now finding willing and open people here who want to develop connections with them, through the use of psychics, mediums, tarot cards or even Ouija boards. Trust me if you are willing to find them, they are more than happy to accommodate you. Once you open yourself up to their influences, you will have a difficult time getting them to leave.

Lisa backs up all her information from the Bible and shows how God purposely instructed us to not getting involved with the supernatural world. We aren't supposed to pray to angels or attempt to communicate with our loved ones who have died. The Bible expressly prohibits this, and there is good cause .Just like you caution your child not to touch a hot oven because you could get hurt, God's purpose is the same, we can get spiritual and in some cases physically hurt but dabbling in things we don't understand. In light of this, it is critical for believers to become aware to what is happening and to utilize both the science and biblical resources to dispel the lies of the enemy that are capturing our youth. She highlights the myths behind the Easter and Christmas celebrations as well as Halloween and is a contributing author at Eye on the Paranormal.

I received Real Science Proves the Bible by Lisa Grace compliments of the author for my honest review and did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review. As a Christian, I can look back at my earlier life and see the many times I too, dabbled in using Ouija boards, tarot cards and even had to do battle with shadow people and sleep paralysis on a couple occasions. As a parent, we can't be ignorant to what is happening right in front of us with horror and paranormal movies, books and television shows permeating our homes and society. We need to know what we are dealing with in regards to the truth and lies and be better equipped to do spiritual battle for the lives of those we love. The book includes scripture references from the Bible as well as factual and scientific links to further your own research on the subject matters.  I easily rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

The Influence

It seems like lately I've come across some amazing, life-changing novels on the subject of spiritual warfare and how it relates to the unseen realm of angels and demons and the influence they have in our lives. Yet I just finished a fantastic novel that took me much deeper than I could ever imagined as if I were quite literally in the shoes of Mark, a man who is trying to find answers in coping with the loss of his son, a year old. He believes if he can simply understand the "why's" of it, he may help him move through it and move on in his life. But for seven years, it seems he is no further ahead. His wife, Kathy is at a loss on how to help and it doesn't help matters when she can't seem to get pregnant again. Fearing that his depression will only get worse, she struggles with the choice of leaving him behind when her father, John, has surgery that requires her assistance for a few days while he recovers at home. Mark assures Kathy to go, but the unsettling feeling she has continues to plague her as she drives to the hospital.

Sotare is called in when Mark is plagued by a demon's influence to take his own life to help him simply let go of the pain he's been holding onto. It is this angelic presence and divine intervention that will undoubtedly take both Mark and the reader into the answers that only God can provide and give them a peek at just what lies hidden behind a veil we can't not see. Since both Mark and Kathy are unbelievers who honestly accept that simply being good people and live their lives accordingly is good enough, Sotare shows Mark just how wrong they both are. He shows them if they are not believers in God, then they are believers of Satan even if they have not made that decision personally. Until Mark and Kathy find the truth for themselves, the battle for their very souls and human lives in literally on the line.

Kathy's father John has been praying for them both diligently in the hopes that they will find God in their own timing. Yet when he feels an unsettling presence in his room while recovering he knows that something more is at stake than what he can see. He calls his pastor Tim, who agrees to meet with him at the hospital and offers a prophetic vision from God that shows just what the risks are to their souls if they remain where they are at in their lives.

The Influence by author Matthew John Slick takes the reader deeper than I have ever gone into the spiritual world of angels and demons and educates us what really goes on every single day that we simply don't see because it is hidden from our human eyes. Yet it makes such a wonderful case to those that haven't made a decision for God that simply can't be debated. I took so many notes from this one that answered many questions that I had as a believer for years, such as Why does God allow Evil in the world if He is truly a God of love? Why does He allow people to die? If He is all powerful why doesn't He do something about it?
I received this book as a free download quite some time ago and was thrilled to immerse myself in this one. The thought of such influence in our lives is downright chilling even as believers to know how much the enemy can still attempt to cause trouble in our own lives and just how powerful prayer really is. I rate this one an unforgettable 5 out of 5 stars and received no monetary compensation for a favorable review. If you really want to see what is going on in the spiritual world, you will definitely want to check this one out. By far one of the best spiritual warfare fictional novels I've read! I'm hoping for a sequel for this one soon!

New Wings

"When we pray for the supernatural, why are we surprised when it actually shows up?"

What an exceptional tagline that immediately made me want to pick up this novel, New Wings by author Donna Stanley. Ever since my first experience with spiritual warfare novels involving angels and demons living among us in the unseen realm through Frank Peretti's amazing Darkness novels, I've been searching for more just like it. Thankfully Donna has come through for me in this latest endeavor of hers. This is definitely a novel geared for young adults but I found such wisdom between the pages I just had to share my thoughts on this novel.

The story takes us into the heart of Olivia Stanton who has always wanted to see her guardian angel. She prays for it and soon God takes her up on the challenge. Her angel Mike appears to her as a teen driving a red Camaro watching her in the high school parking lot. Not really sure who he is at the time, Olivia gets spooked one day driving home and tries to lose Mike as he follows her in his car. When she runs out of gas, Mike offers to get her some gas and sends her on her way. Over the next few days, Olivia soon learns that Mike is her guardian angel and is sent to help prepare her for the spiritual needs of her high school friends. She meets Mike in her dreams who shows her that a close friend is cutting and if she doesn't intervene, she will commit suicide. It is then that Olivia begins to see how God can use her prayers and praise to impact the spiritual world in powerful ways.

Slowly she begins to see how people around her are being influenced and manipulated by demons as well as angels and just what she can do as a prayer warrior for Jesus who can seen into the spiritual realm. But even Olivia isn't perfect and finds herself falling under the temptation of finding a boy who will love her and fails to pray about it first. She soon finds herself in a bad situation with a boy who wants nothing to do with falling in love with Olivia and is merely a player. Soon she learns that not everything she faces will be easy and that each day is an opportunity to draw closer to God and that the most powerful weapon a believer possesses is their ability to pray.

I received the novel, New Wings by Donna Stanley compliments of Glass Roads Public Relations and Creation House for my honest review and received no monetary compensation for a favorable one. In light of all the teens paranormal novels inundating the book market, I am relieved to see a breath of fresh air in Donna's novel. It does not imply a worship of angels and instead shows teens how their prayers impact the spiritual world we can't always see. In one situation, Olivia's friend Christina asks her to volunteer at a homeless shelter and Olivia is repulsed and afraid based on a situation she encountered when she was younger, but Mike encourages her to go anyway. In the end, Olivia sees the power of what her actions can do to bless the lives of the people she meets at the homeless shelter serving lunch and God gives her the opportunity to see them through His eyes. This is such a must read novel for any one who loves novels on spiritual warfare. I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and will be adding this one to my permanent library. I only hope that Donna continues to writing more in this genre. I think the impact will be life changing. I know just reading this novel has already changed my own prayer life.

Tetelestai

Tetelestai is a Greek word that means It Is Finished. It is the last word that Jesus uttered as He hung, dying on the cross. It is the singular word on which the destiny of the human race depended and still depends on. Tetelestai, the Novel is a work of fiction by Eyitemi Egwuenu. This fictional account is woven around actual events as recorded in the Bible about the betrayal, trial, crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus. It is told from the perspective of the Angels both the fallen and the ones that are heavenly and served our God.

The story is well written and beautifully told from Jesus' betrayal to the resurrection in a behind-the scenes tale of what the angels must have experienced. When you think about it, makes you really wondered what they were thinking when Jesus appeared in human form to die for the sins of all mankind, past, present and future, and die. It was the only time when Heaven fell dark for a period of time. When Jesus went into Hell and gained the keys back to life so He could restore our relationship with God and provide once and for all the payment of sin so we could enter into His presence and share in Heaven's reward and have eternal life.

Being a lover of this type of fiction, I reached out to the author personal to request this book to review and was not disappointed. This book was like dessert to a hungry soul that needed to be filled in a new way, to see things from a different perspective even though it is a fictional account, it is still based on a Biblical account of the events of Jesus. This is the perfect book for someone in need of learning about Jesus and God and creates a doorway to reach them that may be overlooked any other way.

The author provides some interesting details I hadn't considered when a conversation takes place between Kessil, an angel in training under the archangel Michael. Kessil is disturbed at just how mankind has warped the image of angels, both heavenly and fallen. He wonders where we get our perception that fallen angels are ugly, red, and have horns. He offers a different perspective, one that I hadn't considered until reading this book.

"What an insult on a marvel of creation. Demons were angels once! How could they possibly be as mankind has depicted them? Humans have projected their own fears, warped by a distorted imagination and portrayed Elohim's (God's) creation falsely. Lucifer and his demons are not ugly! They were all angels of the Heavenlies once!

They are fallen angels but that does not make them ugly. After all when man fell in the Garden of Eden, did he suddenly become ugly? Did Adam and Eve grow horns or a tail because they fell from grace? Why would mankind think that Lucifer and his angels did?

They are fallen, but they are angels still. Kessil sighed deeply as he recalled how he felt when he first saw this misrepresentation of his fallen brothers. If mankind would exert a little thought, they would realize that Lucifer cannot be as ugly as they have described him. Such a being as they have concocted would have no appeal - no power whatsoever to attract. If Lucifer were so grotesque, the world would shun him, all would despise him - men and women would be repulsed on account of his features. But people love him; the world welcomes him with open arms and broad smiles. Lucifer and his demons are not ugly. They never were. They are always beautiful - always were and always will!" (excerpt pg 18).

One of my most favorite lines in this book is simply this:

"Even the trees understand the music of the wandering wind and still dance in joy to it's rhythm, and the melody of a gentle flowing stream still drifts into the heart of an over-flying swan. "

I received Tetelestai by Eyitemi Egwuwenu compliments of the author for my honest review and LOVED it! I know this one has found a permanent home in my library and will be rereading it many times. This one hands down is a 5 out of 5 stars in my personal opinion and one that offers something more than just entertainment while reading this story. It has made me go back and reopen my Bible now and really read between the lines and considering everything that went on both on heaven and on earth. I am so glad my personal faith is assured and guaranteed even though the price that was paid can never be equal. We serve a most amazing God! I can't wait to read his next book Eastward in Eden!

Angel in the Storm - Book 2

A life hangs in the balance and the choice is put on table for Megan and her alone to choose. It seems that her soul is worth the challenge of Damon and it's the ultimate prize for him to win. This time the lives of those she loves will be placed at risk to see how far in her faith she is willing to go.

Her younger brother Max, hasn't yet made the decision to commit his life to Christ. Still not sure what he really believes, he has gone along with things like prayer because he's seen his parents do it. Yet when he prays he isn't sure that there is a God that can answer them. Now Max is missing from his family as Damon has sold him to a pedophile who can hurt him since God will not allow Damon to touch him.

Max realizes what is going on when he awakens after being drugged by Damon at a baseball game. He knows from talking to a young boy named Zero that his very life is in danger and he has to escape. Seeing opportunity above his head, he takes the mattress and climbs to the window, breaks it and escapes. Now he is running for not only his very life but for his soul as well.

Megan hasn't given up her search to find Max after the police believe she knows where he is. Not willing to tell the police she can see into the spiritual world and can see angels and demons, her best bet in clearing her name is to find Max before they find her. Working with her boyfriend Seth and friends, Vania, Robbie, Sam and an angel named Johnny, they set out for New Orleans to find Max.

Their only problem is that this world belongs to the enemy and he has eyes everywhere from the animals that crawl on the earth to the unsaved souls that walk the street and Damon will use whatever it takes to get to Megan before the hurricane arrives. Will Megan be able to find Max in time or will see be out to the ultimate test and choose her life to save another?

In Angel in the Storm, Book 2 in the Angel series by Lisa Grace, we pick up exactly where book 1, Angel in the Shadows leaves off. Max has been taken by Damon and the race is on to find him. Once more Megan's faith will be put to the ultimate test to see how far she is willing to go to save her friends and family. I believe the book is real in the sense that sometimes we don't always make the right choice but sometimes they seem right at the time. Megan's character is believable and shows that not all of her decisions are easy to make and some will have a lasting consequence.

The book also highlights God's role for angels in our lives and how our prayers may or may not affect how they can intervene and just how strong our faith needs to be in the one who created us not in the things he created. I think Lisa did a great job in the continuity of the sequel and once more finished it too soon. Now I have to wait til the fall to pick up book 3, Angel in the Ice. Can't wait to see how that one goes.

I received this eBook compliments of Lisa Grace for my honest review and once again can give it no less than 5 out of 5 stars. For those of you looking for the next great series to get excited about since Harry Potter and Twilight are over, you'll want to make sure you get hooked on this one. My recommendation is to read book 1 first to get completely addicted and the best part is you can head on over to Amazon and pick it up on the Kindle for only $ .99. Angel in the Shadows - Book 1

Megan Laughlin looks like any other average high school girl except for one unique thing. She has the ability to see angels. Not only is she able to see their glowing light that surrounds them identifying them no matter how hard they try to blend in, God's given her a gift into the unseen realm.

She finds out about this unique gift when she begins seeing things that she wonders if she isn't going crazy. One of her camp counselors, Mr. Z as he is know about camp is glowing. Thinking perhaps he may be dying of some radioactive disease, he asks her one morning at the beginning of camp, just what she sees. She tells him that he glows. He laughs and then proceeds to enlighten her on his true identity of being called by God to help Megan with her gift and the coming evil that's headed her way.

Megan fears that even though she loves Seth, her boyfriend, who is also a believer, he may not understand her gift and would end their relationship. So Megan struggles with using her gift of sight during the 8 days at camp. During this time she sees evil spirits that manifest as a dark shadow like cloud, while the dark angels who can change forms into whatever they desire are the ones see is advised to stay away from.

When she returns home from camp, she soon learns that their is a new kid in town, who is very popular in school, Damon Vincente Lawless or D.V.L. for short. Nice initials huh? Now its a battle for the very lives of those she attends school with and for Damon this is a game about soul winning and he isn't about to lose.

In the first book in the Angels in the Shadow series, so we begin the battle brewing between good and evil, heaven and hell and even angels and demons. Angel in the Shadows, Book 1, by Lisa Grace will have you glued to the pages of the first book. I literally inhaled it in two hours and could not put it down. The only disappointing thing was it ended too quickly. I could have read this book all night long for how well written it was. It literally pulls the reader in from the first page.

Even Amazon has placed it in the top 10 as one of the most downloaded teen books!! She has also been interviewed by CBS on her books as well! I can easily see why. Now that I have finished the first and Lisa was kind enough to send me the second one, well you can imagine where I will be after writing this review, back into book 2, Angel in the Storm just to see where this one picks up. I know I will not be disappointed. This book easily rates a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. This series is just as good as the Twilight series but deals with reality instead of fictional vampires and werewolves.

I received this ebook compliments of Lisa Grace for my honest review and am so glad God blessed me with the opportunity to review this one. I can't wait for my oldest daughter, whose 18 to pick this one up. The Invisible World

Life isn't just what you see with your eyes. It's not just what you touch with your hands. The iceberg principle applies to everything in the world. So much that's real is under the surface. So much that's true is hidden and unseen.

God knows what he's doing. He knows what works and what doesn't work. And suffering works. During his passion, Christ experienced every kind of suffering imaginable. He suffered humiliation and embarrassment, mental anguish and emotional stress, sorrow and loneliness and depression; he suffered searing physical pain throughout his entire body, from his feet to his legs to his back to his chest to his hands to all his joints. The crown of thorns digging into his scalp felt as painful as any migraine headache, and the horrible suffocating sensation he felt hanging on the cross was as bad as any respiratory ailment. He went through it all. And in some mysterious way, when he cried out to Heaven: "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?" he even experienced the nothingness and emptiness and black hopelessness of the unbeliever. At that moment, it can actually be said that God himself felt something of what it's like to be an atheist. Yes, Christ even went through that.

Why did he endure so much? For the simple reason that wanted to unite himself to us. He wanted to feel our pain in the same way that we feel it. By experiencing all the different kinds of anguish that we go through, Christ gave meaning to human suffering. Before Christ, all suffering was worthless. On a purely natural level, it may have helped people to grow and mature (as it still does today), but it had no spiritual value whatsoever. When Christ used suffering to save the world, he transformed it into a weapon to combat evil. And thus the reason for being invisible. If God was visible we would fear Him and what He could do because we would know He is in fact real. By being invisible, God is trusting us to making a conscience decision to believe in Him because He is God. (pg 155).

In the book The Invisible World by Anthony DeStefano, we are given an insider's look into the why's of angels, demons, spiritual warfare, and our souls as he explains just why these things are visible to us. I believe he makes a compelling argument for the reasons behind the fall of the angels, what God's purpose was in creating them and why there is such conflict in our world today. I love the message he shared that was quoted above from the book as to God's presence and why it was necessary to go through suffering and restore opportunity for eternal life for all of us once more.

I received this book compliments of B & B Media Group for my honest review and thoroughly enjoyed the insights offered by Anthony DeStefano into the inner workings of the unseen world around us. This book rates 5 out of 5 stars and would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for the explanation about the invisible world.
