Belonging

As a girl, Felicia had asked God why her adoptive parents couldn't love her. Why had they taken her into their home if they hadn't really wanted her? It hadn't been an easy decision to make ever since learning that the only reason the Kristofferson's adopted her was because they had been childless, in their 60's and were looking for an older girl to help Britta in the kitchen with chores and to be a comfort to them in their old age.

After Felicia's mother died when she was a young girl and their father left them, she and her younger sister and older brother were placed in Dr. Clay's Asylum for Little Wanderers until they were each adopted and went their own separate ways. Now with the Kristofferson's deaths, Felicia is finally able to begin a path in her own life that doesn't have anyone telling her what to do. Her only desire is to pour forth her passion into teaching and forget all about love and romance.

Colin Murphy, proprietor of Murphy's Mercantile in Frenchman's Bluff isn't looking forward to the towns new teacher. He was one of two that voted against hiring Felicia Kristofferson and instead wanted a man to come and teach. The past teachers had been more concerned with finding husbands that they were in the welfare of the children they were teaching. Now he finds just caring for his young daughter, Charity and running the store will keep him from ever searching for love again. His wife Margaret died at an early age of 26 when Charity was only 3, so she really never knew her mother, but Colin couldn't forget her. But will God have different plans for Colin and Felicia?



In the novel Belonging by Robin Lee Hatcher, the reader is taken back to a simple time back in the 1800's and the story is here is one of belonging. For Felicia, it's trying to find not only her siblings that have been long separated through adoption, but also trying to find her own place in the world. For Colin, it's trying to find out what God's calling is in his own life, he faces being a single father that is often frowned upon by the wealthy Summerville family, who sees that Charity can use a mother's influence in her tom-boy like ways and they have the perfect person picked out for him, their own daughter, Kathleen, who also is widowed with two young girls.

As the story builds, you can see the town's people coming together in a variety of different ways and even using Felicia's own experience being adopted to help two boys that are being adopted by the Carpenter family that are being difficult at trying to fit in as well. Through it all, God's love always comes shining through and soon the town will see that each person is needed to make a body complete. This novel is part of the Where The Heart Lives Series and one I received compliments of Zondervan Publishers and Net Galley for my honest opinion. I absolutely LOVED this one and rate it a happily ever after, 5 out of 5 stars.

Love Finds You in Daisy, Oklahoma

Sometimes you feel like God is pulling at you, calling you to greater things than you ever felt possible. Seeing a vase of daisies it seemed like something had been missing from Rena Jewel's life, something more than just the emptiness she felt from the loss of her parents when she was 14. It was more than just her Aunt and Uncle who came immediately and offered her a home filled with love. Despite all her charitable work for the Mission Society, Rena felt God calling her. She knew she found her answer in a letter advertising for help running an orphanage in Daisy, Oklahoma from the local sheriff.

Could daisies be the sign that confirmed her next path in life? All Rena knew is that she had such a passion and fire for loving children that she immediately sent her reply to Sheriff Gene Wyatt, informing him that she would arrive in October and was looking forward to helping out in any way she could. If only the letter truly explained what awaited her in Daisy, Oklahoma.

Perhaps Gene should have been a little more truthful when sending his request for help running the orphanage, but when Mrs. Wabash, the former director ran out on him, he didn't have much choice. He would let Ms. Jewel decide for herself whether she would be able to handle running the orphanage for 17 children, most of them boys, if he could only convince her to stay for a day without running away herself.

I received the novel, Love Finds You in Daisy, Oklahoma by Janice Hanna compliments of Summerside Press for my honest review, and literally finished this one in a half a day because I could not put it down. It was funny, heartwarming, sad and filled with the promise of hope and the never ending power of what love can truly do.

This reminded me of the old Disney movies, like the Apple Dumpling Gang where you have a band of orphans that are so used to being left they have no choice but to push their boundaries on the town's residents who more than want the orphanage closed. I kinda saw the interactions with the children a bit like the movie Nanny McPhee only based in 1912, in a small western town. The characters are enjoyable and truly believable and Janice Hanna did an exceptional job at giving each of the 17 children beautiful and unique personalities. In the end, I don't think I could have left any of them because they won me over and I fell in love with all of them. I rate this one a perfect 5 out of 5 stars and again have found a forever home for this lovely novel on my permanent book shelf.

The Forgiven Duke - Giveaway and Review

This is such a charming novel that keeps it leading lady, strong and willing to pursue what she believes is right no matter what anyone thinks and is struggling to decide just what her heart really wants. Will it be Lord John Lemon or the Duke of St. Easton? Will she fall in love to save a man who appears to be broke or will she fall in love to save a man who has fallen in love with her but can't admit it? I rate this novel a 5 out of 5 stars and is a must read if you love a little action with your romance!

I received His Steadfast Love compliments of Christian Fiction Blog Alliance for my honest review and was amazed at this fictional account of one of our countries bloodiest battles on our own soil and the amount of lives that were lost in the war. Amanda Bell is a strong woman character I could relate to, who was willing to put aside her feelings of duty to her family and learn to listen to her heart and God's word. I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and would recommend this to anyone who loves historical romance!

Margaret Macy leaves her home and turns to the life of a maid hoping to hide from Sterling and Marcus who are searching all over London for her. While earning her keep at Fairbourne Hall, she learns that she has been hired to work for the Upchurch family. Will she be able to keep her disguise or will she try and convince Lewis and Nathaniel of her stepfather's plot to marry her for her money?

I received this novel compliments of Christian Fiction Blog Alliance for my honest review and loved it. Taking me to the early 18oo's in London, the reader gets an insiders look at what the life of hired help was like working for rich families and how they find the delight in the simplest of pleasures, that the rich take advantage of. This is a must read for fans of Jane Austen and who love the romance that comes from the time period. I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and can't wait to read more novels by Julie Klassen!

The only problem is that Lillian Willis, is herself set in her ways, strong-willed and cantankerous. She knows just about everyone in town and has an opinion on everything. Not only that, but she has some spells that may just about push poor Miss Ada back to Boston.

What surprises await Ada when she steps off the train and into the hearts of the residents of Hickory Ridge, and what danger also looms under the cover of darkness that may end things for her before she has a chance to find love again.

I received Beyond All Measure by Dorothy Love compliments of TLC Book Tours for my honest review. Being a huge fan of western romances with a twist, this one was a delight to read. I loved the characters that she develops and makes the readers have a real relationship with them. Ada's so determined to not let anyone in, she fails to see the truth that lies right before her eyes at times. Lillian has to be my favorite, being so blunt and honest, she doesn't hold back when something needs to be said. That being said, this book rates a 5 out of 5 stars in my opinion and can't wait to continue the story in the next book in the Hickory Ridge Romance series.

The Pub Across The Pond

Living in America, do you ever wonder what it would be like to own an Irish Pub? Well that is the premise behind the latest book by Mary Carter, The Pub Across The Pond.

As the song goes, Ronan McBride was a rambler and a gambler, although he was never a long way from home. I can't tell you what it was that made the birds go absolutely mental over him, except that he was over six feet and had all his hair. Let's just say he had his pick of chickens in our little town, not to mention a hen or two who would have liked to sink their beaks into him. His father had left the pub to him when he past away even though in heavenly retrospect, I bet James, his father, wishes he would've just left it to the girls.

Ronan was the biggest gambler, but Joe, his uncle, a businessman and teetotaler, was well suited to take him on. It was hard to believe they were related. Joe ran the general shop next door and hardly ever set foot in the pub. In the center of the table lay a massive pile of crumpled bills. They were out of cash and had switched to using bingo chips. It was never suppose to get up this high - it was five-thousand when it came down to just the two of 'em, and Joe was willing to keep the pot as it was but Ronan had to push it.

He had four aces. Two on the deal, and two more sweet babies on the draw. It was a sure winner. He almost felt sorry for his uncle. But when his uncle put down the keys to his shop, Ronan felt obligated to put up the keys to the pub. Maybe Ronan was taking unfair advantage of an old fella. A straight flush was the only hand in the world to be a four aces. If Joe wasn't bluffing, he probably had a high straight at best, and when they both laid down their hands, that's exactly what Joe had. Ronan's face wasn't the only thing that was flush.

Now he only had thirty days to find a way to raise one hundred thousand euros or his family's pub would become the latest tanning bed in Ireland. His sisters decide that American's are foolish enough to want to spend $20 to purchase a raffle ticket to own an Irish pub. They feel that not only will they raise enough money but even more. They just hope the person who wins isn't looking to come to Ireland to own it, but that's exactly what Carlene Rivers decides to do. She is stunned when she wins, but everyone else is stunned when she actually goes...and that's where this novel goes.



I received The Pub Across The Pond by Mary Carter compliments of Pump Up Your Book Tours and Mary Carter for my honest review. I loved the way she wrote this novel. The dialogue is so precise you can hear the Irish accent in your head as your reading it. This is an adorable romantic fiction that will have everyone wishing to visit Ireland, head to a pub and order up a pint! I rate this a 5 out of 5 stars and can't wait to pick up more books from this author. She truly made you feel a part of the story from the very first page, you will laugh out loud at times and find some warmth and romance even tucked inside. I LOVED IT!

The Lady of Bolton Hill

Clara Endicott and Daniel Tremain have been friends since childhood. Their love and passion of music is what drew them together despite their differences in backgrounds and wealth. Clara was from a wealthy family, her father a pastor of a large church and her brother Clyde, a missionary working with the Navajo Indians.

Now circumstance will bring Daniel and Clara together once more with God having a destiny in mind for them both. For Daniel it will be dealing with his parents death and the bitterness he can't let go of, and for Clara it will be seeing the best in people despite what her family wishes for her.

In the latest novel by Elizabeth Camden, The Lady of Bolton Hill, is a great story that shows just how much bitterness and revenge will ultimately cost some who refuse to allow God to handle judging others. Set in Baltimore, Maryland in the late 1800's, the reader is in for a treat and this one won't rest until you've read the final page.

I received this book compliments of Christian Fiction Blog Alliance for my honest review and this one hands down receives 5 out of 5 stars. When a book is rated this high it means you will stay up reading it long past the time you need to sleep just so you can find out what happens next. This one you won't want to put down until you see how it all turns out in the end.

As you can see by the opening pages of this novel, it will be a journey unlike no other between Annabelle Tyler and Harrison Graymoor. This is a great romance story that truly does not begin with a once upon a time, and will keep you turning page after page just wondering what will happen next.

An Unlikely Suitor

In the novel, An Unlikely Suitor by Nancy Moser, the reader will be immersed into the lives of Sophia, Lucy and Rowena as each of them finds not only friendship but the real meaning behind sacrificial love. I received this book compliments of Christian Fiction Blog Alliance for my honest review and have to give it a 5 out of 5 stars. This was such an easy book to become immersed in between the relationships of Lucy and Rowena, both from completely different backgrounds who find their way to look past all of what society deems appropriate and truly experience all life has to offer.
