Soul Custody

Life is about choices.

Every day we make choices that affect our lives - choices about what to eat, which job offer is best, which relationships are really worth our time. Whether we realize it or not, every choice is a decision for the life or death of our soul.

As Stephen W. Smith contends in his book, Soul Custody, Choosing to Care For The One and Only You, "Caring for your soul is about waking up to live before you die." This book is an invitation to accept life-giving choices that promise to revive your soul.

This is not a book of easy steps to a happy life. It is a book about the challenging choice to embrace God's dream for you. It's an invitation to start living - to take custody of who you truly are. (excerpt from back cover).

My Review:

What a refreshing new self help book that speaks volumes to waking up and truly living an abundant life that Jesus has promised us when He gave His life to us believers. He never meant for us to live our lives like Hell on Earth and push ourselves beyond what the human body and soul were meant to endure.

No wonder we are in the state we are in, due to over working ourselves, being able to multi-task, working more than 40 hours in a week, passing up vacations, striving for more, more wealth, better things, more vacation time, promotions, just thinking about it all makes your head spin. Yet when you go back and look at the Bible and realize God's plan for managing our days and our time wisely include not over doing it, not stressing out, and making time for more than what the material wealth of the world has to offer.

I absolutely loved this book and how much it has helped me manage my time more wisely, and seeing the Sabbath for what it's purpose really is in our lives. We are meant to take time off from what we do everyday, dealing with stressful people and family members, no technology for a day, no running errands, or over committing our time, but to rest and reflect and enjoy the life God so graciously gave up for us.

I received this wonderful book compliments from B & B Media Group for my honest review and rate it 5 out of 5 stars. It's that good. Trust me, aside from a glass of water for a parched mouth, this book really does give your soul a boost!
