A Royal Christmas Wedding
As a little girl, I have always been fascinated by fairy tales and happily ever after endings, where the prince finds his princess and love prevails. We can look to England for some of that contemporary royal wedding and romance and see that some fairy tales are not just in books. Perhaps that is why I have absolutely adored Rachel Hauck's Royal Wedding series of novels. It takes those romance feelings of fairy tales long ago and brings them to life in a "Ah moment" whenever you finish one. I could not wait for this one to release and readers will be able to pick this one up in mid-October.
A Royal Christmas Wedding picks up where How to Catch a Prince left off, and now goes to show that just because you might want it to happen, some happily ever afters must wait. Combining a bit of royal wedding history from the early 1800's, the Pembrook chapel bell has not rang out since the death of Prince Michael who fell to his untimely death after ringing the Pembrook Chapel bell announcing his intentions to marry the woman his loved. To this date, the bell has remained silent along with all the traditions that went along with it. Now it has been 182 years since a Prince climbed the 182 steps of the Chapel to ring the bell and all of London is abuzz with the news that Prince Colin Tattersall will do just that and ring the bell for Lady Jordan who he has been seeing recently.
However on the eve of the Harvest Celebration, what the world doesn't realize is that the Prince has been coming to the chapel for quite some time with his friends to toast in the New Year, not ring the bell. But if he could do it, it would be for the one woman who claimed his heart 4 years ago and not Lady Jordan. That is his prayer to God, that the bell would ring for her. However when it does, by some odd reason, Colin believes it to be a prank ushered in by Guy Smoot, his longtime friend and now the entire world believes Colin has rang it for Lady Jordan instead.
Avery Truitt has arrived with her mother in Brighton to be with her sister this Christmas now that there is news she might be giving birth to the soon-to-be-heir. All she knows is the man who broke her heart 4 years ago, will be present during all the celebrations that will take place over the next month and she is bound to run into him. Despite what she feels, her heart has never gotten over Colin and he will always be the one for her. She just needs to keep her emotions and feelings in check during the next few weeks. All that is in the past and she needs to focus on her future and that is not with Colin, no matter how wonderful he may be. He stood her up 4 years ago for prom and she isn't about to just let him waltz back on in.
I received A Royal Christmas Wedding by Rachel Hauck compliments of Zondervan Publishing and Net Galley. This is truly an adult version of all those fairy tales we read as little girls and gives us hope that love will always prevail despite the odds against it. Who wouldn't want to fall in love with a handsome prince during Christmas? Sign me up for sure. This is one for die-hard royal romance fans who love following their hearts instead of their heads when it comes to romance. The only down side is that this marks the end of the Royal Wedding series, with this being book 4. If you haven't read them, please do so in order so you can gain a true understanding of all the relationships you'll encounter in this one, including Susanna and Nathaniel's own royal romance. For me, this is a wonderful 5 out of 5 stars and only hope at some point in the future, we might get a chance to see how their lives have progressed down the road. There is also discussion questions included that book clubs will love.

How To Catch A Prince
"I pledge to you my love and fidelity, my honor and trust, to cherish you until death part us.
The heiress and the prince. They were meant to be. In love. Forever. They were going to make it, defeat the odds of wealth and power pulling a modern couple apart." (pg. 51).
I don't know of one woman who hasn't dreamed of some day even if it's only in her dreams of capturing the attention of a handsome prince. I guess we get that notion from all those fairy tales our parents read to us as a child, but best selling author Rachel Hauck has managed to captivate on that notion in a way that garners those fantasy dreams once again as an adult in her Royal Wedding Series of novels.
I mean who hasn't watched Princess Diana marry Prince Charles or even lately the marriage of Kate and William and hasn't in the back of her mind longed for that same dream. In her latest novel How to Catch a Prince, the third novel in the series, American heiress Corina Del Rey had managed to do just that, win the heart of Prince Stephen of Brighton. While they knew the implications of such a secret love and how it might impact their futures, love still prevailed and their wedding took place in secret just before Stephen was slated for deployment to Afghanistan.
When he returned however the secrets persisted and he told Corina that their wedding was a mistake. One that could very well cost him the future throne. It seemed there was more there than what he was willing to tell Corina so they parted and went their separate ways for the next five and a half years. When Stephen is confronted with a marriage certificate he believed was destroyed, he is told he is still legally married by his brother Nathaniel. He has to find Corina and manage to convince he to sign annulment papers to legally end the marriage they both believed was over. But Corina isn't about to give up that easily especially when she knows that Stephen can provide the answers to her brother Carlos' death when he served with Stephen during his deployment, something the government wants to keep covered up. Is all fair in love and war? You're about to find out!
I received How to Catch a Prince by Rachel Hauck compliments of Zondervan Publishers and Litfuse Publicity for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions contained here are strictly my own. This is the fairy tale series for women who love the idea that a happily ever after does in fact exist in real life. I have read this entire series from beginning to end and my hope is that it doesn't end with this novel. These have been too good to be true and one that I will be reading again and again. They are a permanent addition to my book collection and personal library. A Reader's Discussion Guide is included at the conclusion of this novel that is perfect for book clubs that would love to host this novel. In my opinion, this one is another home run and well deserving of all 5 out of 5 stars.

Princess Ever After
What would you do if someone you never met before came up to you with news that you are a royal heir to the throne? That's right a bonafide princess! Would you believe him? Would you be willing to give up your current life right now and head for a country your grandmother used to talk about but one you never had though had any significance to your family before today?
Welcome to Regina Beswick's world as of today? While she insists that everyone call her Reggie, she finally believes that she is following the dream she was always meant to have, restoring old vintage cars. While her father wanted her to pursue a career as a CPA, it wasn't her life calling and she walked away from the accounting firm. Now while she has successfully restored her first car, a 1971 Dodge Challenger and is dreaming of the day when she'll have more opportunities, in walks Tanner Burkhardt. He's been sent on behalf of the King Nathaniel II to locate the only heir to the throne, the Grand Duchy of Hessenberg, which leads to Reggie.
They have only less than a month remaining to convince Reggie to come back to Hessenberg and assume her throne or the island country will revert back to Brighton as the one-year entail ends. But how can you convince someone like Reggie that her duty is to assume the throne when all her life, she has never heard of anything more than fairy tales her grandmother Alice shared with her. She's just suppose to walk away from her home, her family, friends and her promising new business and leave it behind to be a princess? She always dreamed that fairy tales would come true but she never for once considered it just might be true and happening to her!
But perhaps she can just fly over to Hessenberg, restore the country to it's proper order and then walk away leaving the responsibility to someone else, but when Tanner learns that the governor of Hessenberg is challenging Reggie's ability to manage the country, it might mean that the country will default to no government after all. The new governor is trying to use the media to create a fire storm of controversy that Reggie is American born and thus has no right to rule over a country and people she cares little for. Will Tanner be able to convince Reggie to do what she can to help the country or will it fall into history as being a city no more?
I received Princess Ever After by best selling author Rachel Hauck compliments of Litfuse Publicity and Zondervan Publishing for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation and the opinions are strictly my own. This is the second novel in the Royal Wedding Series and I loved it just as much as I did the first one. I think every little girl grows up with the fantasy of being a princess some day and that is why I believe this novel really appeals to women. It creates the possibility that fairy tales can come true and perhaps there is a handsome prince just waiting out there for the right girl to come along and save the day being just the person she is without having to change. I easily give this one a 5 out of 5 stars. There is also a reading group guide at the end that is perfect for book clubs! I can't wait for A March Bride coming soon!

Once Upon A Prince
As a young girl I can remember all those fairy tale stories my mother used to read to me. A handsome prince would rescue his damsel in distress, whisk her away from her previous life, take her away to his castle, marry her and live happily ever after. Yet those were the fairy tales for little girls, but thankfully Rachel Hauck is introducing a new series of novels, The Royal Wedding Series and begins with the first book, Once Upon a Prince.
We all know that fairy tales can really come true! Take for example Princess Diana, the average American girl who falls in love with Prince Charles. They get married and live in a castle where everyone falls in love with the idea that fairy tales really can come true. Now we can see evidence of the generational love story with Prince William, Diana and Charles oldest son, who falls in love with Kate Middleton, your average girl with no royal ties or upbringing and once again they marry and are spending their futures living the fairy tale dream.
In Once Upon A Time, we meet Susanna Truitt who has spent the last twelve years waiting for the man she had hoped would marry her and they would begin their own fairy tale future, but that was not in the cards she would be dealt. After serving four tours in Afghanistan, Adam Peters had come home to realize that Susanna wasn't the right girl. He had fallen in love with someone else and now needed to convince Susanna that her future plans did not involve her. Could her life get any worse?
After being dumped quite literally on the beach where she had hoped Adam was taking her to propose, she finds herself with a flat tire and dealing with a homeless man beginning for money. Armed with a tire iron and a strong will, no matter how much she pleads with the man to leave her alone, he won't take no for an answer. That is when Susanna's "prince" arrives to save the day. Armed with knowledge on how to change a tire, he simply instructs the homeless man to take the $20 he offers and leave them alone. She is relived and broken at the same point and breaks down in front of Nate. He listens with a kind ear and offers to help her change her tire. What he can't understand is why Adam would leave her to marry another?
Susanna learns that Nate Kenneth is on holiday in St. Simons Island and is involved in politics back in Brighton. She finds herself being drawn to him in unremarkable ways when it seems like fate keeps intervening to enable Nate to come to her rescue again and again. When Susanna's father has a heart attack and is rushed to the hospital, Nate is there for her. Armed with running the family business, The Rib Shack while her father is recovering Nate offers to help out with whatever he can do to help the family out, even if it means cleaning toilets and taking out the trash. Never in her wildest dreams did Susanna believe that true love was waiting for her at the end of her darkest road and that a fairy tale was about to be unleashed on her life when she learns that Nate is the Prince of Brighton. Will she have a fairy tale ending after all?
I received Once Upon a Prince by Rachel Hauck compliments of Zondervan Publishing and Litfuse Publicity Book Tours for my honest review. I received no monetary compensation for a favorable review. I inhaled this one and fell in love over and over again not only with Nate, but also with Susanna's fate in life. It seems like things go from bad to worse at every opportunity and you just hope with fingers crossed and baited breath that she and Nate will find that "happily ever after". I think my favorite part in the book was when Susanna needed a ride at a fundraiser to go to the hospital as her dad was being rushed there for his heart. She knew that the fund raiser was hosting a special guest but had no idea who it was.
As Nate was making arrangements for a ride, she looked at him and said, "You're from Brighton. Wouldn't it be funny if you were their special guest?"
"Downright hilarious. Shall we get you to the hospital?"
The saddest part of this novel was finishing it too soon. I even interrupted my husband several times to share parts of this book with him. "Oh babe, she finds out he's really a prince. I hope they fall in love and get married!" I look forward to many more in this series. Finally a big girls fairy tale series I can fall in love with time and time again. This wasn't my first Rachel Hauck novel and it won't be my last. This one rate a perfect 5 out of 5 stars and has found a permanent place on my personal library shelf. I highly recommend this one to your "Must Read List" for the summer.
