23 Blast - DVD Review and Giveaway

Growing up Travis Freeman was your typical boy who loved playing football. In fact between Travis and his best friend Jerry Baker, they were a true all American pair who could read each other like no one else. It was no surprise when in their senior year, Travis and Jerry would find themselves playing for the RedHounds in a small Kentucky town. Knowing this could simply be an unforgettable year for the team Travis is ready for scholarship opportunities during this season. Yet when a sinus infection invades his body, antibiotics refuse to work and subsequently lead Travis to losing his sight. How does a young man who has all his hopes and dreams laid out in front of him respond to having it all taken away?

That is the true story behind 23 Blast, a new inspirational movie from Ocean Avenue Entertainment, Toy Gun Films and Touchdown Productions. Travis will need to learn to be dependent on not only his parents, his mobility coach, his best friend and his former team to help him through this dark storm. It will take not only his athletic ability, but the courage and perseverance to digger deeper than he ever dreamed possible to find a way to play football again against all the odds and people who oppose the coach wanting him to play again.

This is truly a must see for fans of movies like Rudy and Facing the Giants, and teaches us the value of not letting anything define who God created us to be. .There truly is nothing we can't achieve with the love and support of our faith, friends and family. This movie is rated PG-13 due to the brief drinking of alcohol on school property). It runs for 98 minutes and comes loaded with some amazing special features like The Travis Freeman Story, Whatever Happens to Jerry Baker?, Bloopers, Behind the Scenes Featurette and more.

I received 23 Blast compliments of Propeller Consulting, LLC, for my honest review and did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review. The only flaw I found in the film was that it moved pretty fast in the beginning to get to Travis's blindness. At one point he has swelling in his eyelids and is diagnosed with a sinus infection and in the next scene he is being taken into surgery because the antibiotics aren't working. There is a scene in which the doctor comes out of surgery but the discussion he has is not heard in the movie. The parents are the ones to explain to Travis when he wakes from surgery what has happened. You learn through the Travis Freeman Story and subsequent information on the website that the infection destroyed his optic nerve which rendered him blind. That would have been helpful to understand in the movie. Overall a great film that teach how to move past obstacles and find the light at the end. I rate this one a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Ragamuffin - DVD Giveaway and Review

In the world of rising music stars and American Idols, I believe we fail to see the real people hidden behind the record labels and recording studios. The people who exist when all the lights and cameras are gone home for the night. When they are simply all alone with their thoughts. We don't always see the real people, the brutally honest insight into what goes on and what they are really feeling on the inside.

In the DVD Ragamuffin, which chronicles the life of Rich Mullins, you get to see past all the glitz and publicity to watch the rise of what it took back in the late 70s to gain the notoriety we see in our music artists today. Yet the one thing that sticks with you is the honesty in his life. Raised as a farmer who didn't quite possess the skills necessary to gain success in the eyes of his father, Rich gravitated to music in which he excelled naturally. Unfortunately he was seen as less than worthy in the eyes of his own father, which made understanding the love of God difficult. If God loves you, you should believe it. When Rich looked at that model in his own life no matter how many people told him that his real dad loved him, he found that faith hard to swallow.

Throughout the movie, however, Rich never losses his honest faith with connecting with the God of the Bible. His faith is genuine and the messages he shared when playing his music in churches connected with people on a level I don't think many can achieve even now. He wasn't looking for fame, wealthy or success. He simply was looking for a place to call home. He found it briefly when he met a girl named Jess, who provided him that unconditional love, we all need to feel a part of something bigger. But when Nashville called wanting to record his songs for artists like Amy Grant, Jess gracefully bowed out, even though Rich declined to go. She knew he was destined for more and the struggles he makes to find his way in the world, I think everyone can relate to.

I received Ragamuffin compliments of Millennium Entertainment and Flyby Promotions for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions expressed in this review are strictly my own. There are simply too many good things to say about this movie but most of all is that God is genuine and He is real. The story of Rich's life shows how desperately he wanted that connection he had with God to be manifested in human form. He shares how difficult and lonely life can be at times, and I think that hits home with so many. Our lives at times have their moments when we can simply feel all alone and wondering if our one life makes any difference at all. This story of Rich's showcases just how one life can impact and cause the ripples that span long after they begin and I believe that is the message behind it all. I easily give this one a 5 out of 5 stars in my opinion.

Unstoppable - DVD Giveaway and Review

Have you ever stopped and wondered just why does God allow bad things to happen to good people? Is He capable of preventing it? Does He care? Does He even hear your prayers? Why is  this one question the reason so many Christians give up their faith when adversity falls into their own lives and death claims yet another great person, a believer in Christ? When cancer claims another victim and despite all the prayers, healing doesn't come?

Actor Kirk Cameron takes a hard look at just why this happens and finds the answers by going back through the Bible in hopes of providing some clarification as he examines the death of 15-year-old Matthew Sandgren, a close friend of his that losses his 10-year battle with cancer. Kirk takes viewers into the beginning with the creation of Adam and Eve, the fall in the garden of Eden, the flood of Noah, and the coming of Jesus Christ.

In the end, I think Kirk stimulates us to consider all the facts of why bad things continue to happen to good people and offers us hope that when this life is over, we will have everlasting life. It helped me accept things on a much broader scale and realized just how much God cares for all of us despite the circumstances in our lives that hit home when we least expect them. As believers in Jesus Christ, we all know that our life is limited and we will face death, but it doesn't end for us there. It still affects us when we lose someone we love, because of that loss of their presence in this life, here on Earth. We miss them and want to be with them again. That loss is what grieves us the most, not that death claimed them, and now they are restored in heaven. We know we will see them again and then nothing will separate us thanks to what Jesus did through the sacrifice of His death on the cross. Does it answer the why? Not entirely but then again only God knows the reasons why He does what He does and for us, in time, it will be enough for now.

In theaters for only two weeknights (Sept 24th and Oct 3th, 2013), UNSTOPPABLE: A Live Event with Kirk Cameron sold a staggering 260,000 tickets and reached a theatrical gross of over $3.2 million dollars. In just two nights this independent project sent a loud message – audiences want thought-provoking and meaningful entertainment.

I received Unstoppable by Provident Films compliments of FlyBy Promotions for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions expressed are strictly my own. This was an interesting DVD to watch and it's hard to define what it is, It's not really a documentary or a movie but more of a heart to heart look at sitting down with Kirk Cameron taking a hard look at why bad things happen to good people. I wanted to see this movie when it came out in theaters but missed the chance since it only had a single air date. Now I was thrilled to review this DVD and be able to share it with you. It really makes you consider things from the creation of the world to where we are at today and hopefully it offers a glimmer of hope in the midst of tragedy. I easily rate this one a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Audrey Bunny ~ Review and Giveaway

If you have ever fallen in love with the story of the Velveteen Rabbit, then you will definitely want to capture this children's book, Audrey Bunny by Angie Smith. It is a beautifully illustrated and wonderful story of a stuffed bunny who used to be one of twelve in the barrel in the toy story but now is only one of two. The bunny is struggling with wanting to find a forever home, but because of a smudge over the heart that she tries to hide whenever someone comes looking for a stuffed animal to take home, she is always tossed back because she is damaged or unwanted because of her mark.

Now that Caroline comes in looking for a birthday present, the bunny hides the mark in order to find a forever home and she succeeds in going home, but she knows that one day Caroline will see it and it's only a matter of time before the bunny, now named Audrey, is taken back to wind up in the barrel forever. Only like all of us, what makes us unique is something worthy in the eyes of those that can see it.

This is a delightful book that demonstrates to children who read it that were are all different in some way, but it's those differences that set us apart and make us special not undesirable. God made us all different and He uses those special characteristics in all of us to show how we are each a masterpiece not an imitation. There is even a great section in the back of the book called Parent Connect that allows parents to ask questions and garner a great discussion for children to learn what it means to be different but not an outcast and it's one of those books that your child will definitely read over and over again.

I received Audrey Bunny by Angie Smith compliments of B and H Publishing Group and FlyBy Promotions for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions expressed in this review are strictly my own. I only wish I would have had this book when my children were younger to point out the lessons in differences in people and how God view them. We are all uniquely created and masterpieces instead of copies. It teaches them to see those differences in new eyes and creates such a great conversation between parents and their kids that they can refer back to the story over and over again. I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and have already gifted mine to a special little angel in my life that LOVES this story.

Angie Smith is the wife of Todd Smith (lead singer of Dove Award winning group Selah), best-selling author of MendedI Will Carry You, and What Women Fear, and one of the most popular speakers and blog writers in the country. She holds a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from Vanderbilt University and lives with her husband and daughters in Nashville, TN.

Hey God, I've Got Some Guy Named Jonah in My Stomach and I Think I'm Going to Throw Up - Giveaway and Review

I'm sure you all remember the story of the famous whale right? No, not the one about the angry white whale, and no, not the one who swallows a puppet and a cricket. The other story, actually, the first story about a whale: The Story of Jonah! Imagine what it would be like if the whale was the one telling his side of the story!
That's just what you get in a beautifully illustrated children's book, Hey God, I've Got Some Guy Named Johan in My Stomach and I Think I'm Going to Throw Up! by author Troy Schmidt and illustrator Cory Jones.

The tale has been told millions of times, but people always talk about Jonah and what he went through, but what about the whale? He had some guy stuck in his stomach and I'm sure he didn't taste too good either and this book is his side of that famous story. This one is guaranteed to help your kids laugh and see that there are two sides to every story and one that will help them remember that important Bible story as well.

There are lots of laughs inside that kids will really relate to. I mean if you're a whale do humans even taste good? What do they taste like? How do you get them out of your stomach? Just who does a whale go to see when he's got a human stuck inside him? Is there a whale doctor under the sea?

This story shows just how important it is to follow God's commands and includes a Parent Connection on the final page to encourage a conversation with your children after you finish to dive into the book of Jonah in the Bible. There are some great questions to ask your children along with a fun activity to pretend what living inside a whale might be like.

I received Hey God, I've Got Some Guy Named Johan in My Stomach and I Think I'm Going to Throw Up! by author Troy Schmidt compliments of B and H Publishing Group for Kids and Flyby Promotions for my honest review. I didn't receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review. This is such a great way to teach your children a lesson in obedience using the story of Johan from the Bible is a fun, creative way! Hands down this is a MUST HAVE in your children's library and well worth 5 out of 5 stars! I love it when you can find a product that drives home the biblical principles we want our kids to understand and would make a great book to incorporate into the children's ministry at your church as well. There are also more great titles to chose from such as the story of Noah and the story of Moses told through the eyes of the animals as well you can find through B & H Publishing Group! This book is perfect for kids age 4 and up!

This Is Our Time ~ DVD Review and Giveaway

Have you ever struggled with the prospect of what your life's purpose is? Why others around you seem to moving at an accelerated pace in the right direction, but it seems like God has all but forgot you in the process? Is it possible that God wants you right where you are at this particular moment even if it mean sitting on the bench or simply being a dishwasher or a stay at home mom?

Then I have the perfect movie for you that should help point you in the right direction or even be content with where you are at right now! Pure Flix presents This Is Our Time, a way to seize God's calling! Starring Erin Bethea (Fireproof) as Alè and her husband Luke (T.J. Dalrymple) who marry shortly after their graduation from college, and feel the calling of going to India as part of Embrace A Village ministry. This ministry cares for those afflicted with leprosy and their families. Their friends from college Catherine (Kate Cobb), an aspiring financier, who joins a prestigious financial institution determined to make an impact on corporate American; Ryder (Matthew Florida), who lands an impressive job in social media and can't wait to use the powerful medium for a greater good; and Ethan (Shawn-Caulin Young), seemingly the odd man out, who struggles to find his God-given purpose and feels sidelined by God.

"What they all come to learn is that it never really was their time, but always was, always is, God's time."

This movie is so powerful because there is a sense that we can all relate to a character in the movie. Even those that seem to have it all made, find themselves struggling with some of the business ethical choices in their jobs, so it's not always as green on the other side as some would see. I found myself relating to the character of Catherine because it sometimes means having to make hard choices in your job. I myself, found that leaving a job after ten years despite the prestige and salary that may it hard to give up, required me to simply walk away and never look back. At the time, the decision was a hard one and one I found myself questioning quite a bit during my first year, especially when my family just bought a new home and two incomes were almost required. However, I found with God's assurance, we were able to make it just fine and He paved the way in unpredictable ways, much like He does in all the characters in this movie. Sometimes we have to get to the end of the path before we can see clearly because the whole time we were simply too close to the situation.

I received This Is Our Time by Pure Flix Entertainment compliments of Flyby Promotions for my honest review and received no compensation for a favorable review. This movie really hit home with me as a stay at home mom for the last ten years now wondering if I was sacrificing what God wanted me to do for something bigger and more impactful. However, after watching this one, I am content with where God has placed me and until such a time that He asks me to move in another direction, I will do my best with what I can. A great family movie with a profound moral message. For those wondering where God's at in your life in any situation, this is the movie for you. I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars. Now comes the best part.

Janet's Planet DVD - Review and Giveaway

Being a home school teacher/mom, I love finding great products that make learning not only educational, but fun! That's why I am so excited to share this DVD, Janet's Planet with all of you! Janet's Planet is a fun educational tool you can use to help your child become more knowledgeable in Science, History and Health. In the Microgravity DVD, Janet Ivy explores the world of gravity, mass and the impacts it has not only on the Earth but one other planets as well. I only wish I had gotten this sooner, when we were studying Gravity in our Science Lesson. This explains it so much better than all those chapters and dull, boring words on a page. I love the interaction between Janet and the kids in this DVD. The illustrations she uses are simply enough for anyone to understand and better yet, remember. We will be using this as a refresher prior to our school's state testing next week.

I love the explanation about the effects of gravity and what would happen if the Earth suddenly found itself without gravity and thus explains the gravity on the moon and other planets. In addition I love the visuals for the mass and weight on Earth and other planets. There are some funny comedy references to make it really fun!

The best part is that the learning doesn't end when the DVD is over, there is some incredible information you can find through Janet's Planet website, from links to videos, a fun jeopardy game on Science, Health and History, (I did O.K., though I may need a refresher course through Janet's DVD) and so much more for both parents and educators. There is even a link to the Janet's Planet Space Log ( a blog) with more incredible information and challenges. I am a huge supporter in anything that keeps kids engaged and learning while making it fun and Janet's Planet masters that concept.

On Janet's Planet website, I found that the blog needs to be updated since the last entry was June of 2012 but the information contained on the site is pretty amazing. That is the only downfall I see at this time. My 8th grader was challenged to play the Jeopardy game and at first was a bit frustrated because she felt it was too childish looking. However having her play the game, I literally watched her go from less than willing to super excited as she progressed further into the game. So that just tells me that this works and she completely enjoyed it. She learned quite a few things she didn't know especially in regards to some anatomy health questions, and was thrilled to understand some of the science explorers like Buzz Aldrin and Alan Shepard.

On Janet's Planet Facebook page, we learned of a 19-year old student, Boyan Slat who invented an Ocean Cleanup Array to remove up to 7,250,000 tons of plastic waste from the world's ocean. He even created his own Ocean Cleanup Foundation and estimates that it will take about 5 years to remove these plastic garbage patches from our oceans. There is literally so much great information all linked to help students learn more about Science, History, Health and Nutrition. I think this is a must see for anyone who is excited about learning in a fun way using technology to help! I know I have forwarded all these links to our parenting network and have gotten great responses. Here's hoping Janet's Planet goes global through the educational network.

I received Janet's Planet DVD compliments of FlyByPromotions and Janet's Planet for my honest review and received no monetary compensation for a favorable review. This DVD is geared for all ages and learning levels. The resources through the website, Facebook and Space Log are great enhancements to keep the learning alive and fun even after you finish with the DVD. I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product to parents, educators and students who are looking for a way to making learning fun and exciting!

Thanks to the generous folks at Janet's Planet and FlyByPromotions, they are offering a giveaway copy of Janet's Planet to one lucky follower of my blog, Reviews From The Heart. Here are your guidelines to enter:

1. Be a follower of my blog Reviews From The Heart.

4. Leave a comment below along with your email address and let me know why you'd love to win this DVD. You can use the words (at) and (dot) instead of the symbols.

I will notify the winner by email on April 12th when the giveaway ends.

American Bible Challenge is Back for Season 2!!!

The American Bible Challenge Promo from propeller on GodTube.

That's right the game show of Biblical proportions is back and it's even better than ever!!

Starting Tuesday, March 21 on the Game Show Network or GSN, The American Bible Challenge is back once again with host Jeff Foxworthy at 9PM ET/PT. This time there have been some interesting new changes to make this show even more fun and exciting to watch. Even if you don't have access to cable, you can always find the shows episodes on the GSN page with the link provided below so you won't miss out on any of the fun.

Each week three teams battle their way through a series of questions, challenges and now tasks to win money for their charity. The categories are fun and challenging to attempt to compete with your favorite team. My family watches it faithfully and we have set it up to record, so we can pause the show to provide enough time to answer the questions. In the final round where teams are given a set amount of time to "study" the Bible for the final round, it also provides us the time to do the same.

We've actually become more knowledgeable in our own personal study of the Bible through watching this program. My youngest daughter and I challenge each other quite a bit and with this season incorporating some interesting task challenges it will take our family Bible study to a whole new level.

There is even an app you can download for your wireless device or tablet to allow you to continue your Bible Challenge no matter where you are. It definitely keeps things interesting and engaging on a whole new level. There is even Bible Study links, hosted by Max Lucado, you can take advantage of to help you in your walk through the Bible. This is definitely an added benefit to being a part of making learning fun.

But don't just take my word for it, explore the website on your own. You can even catch last seasons episodes if this is your first time joining in. It truly is geared to make you laugh, cry and become stronger in your faith and knowledge of the Bible. The charities each of the teams plays for is focused on briefly to give you an inside look at what has motivated them to work to win money for their charity. Last year there were food programs to help those in need, a family that was working to donate money for more research into their son's death, programs to help out the needy kids in the neighborhoods and more.

If your a Facebook fan, you can even join their Facebook page and join in on some of the free giveaways that they host from time to time. And if you love giveaways, make sure you join my blog, Reviews From The Heart. We're going to be giving away and incredible surprise next month and I wouldn't want you to miss out.

So don't forget, set your DVR's to Tuesday, March 21st at 9PM ET/PT for The American Bible Challenge and don't forget your Bibles!!!

Veggie Tales: The Little House That Stood - DVD Giveaway and Review

I would hardly think there isn't a person alive who hasn't heard of Veggie Tales! Now they have introduced a new DVD, The Little House That Stood along with your favorite Veggie Tales characters Bob and Larry. Once more Bob and Larry are trying to answer two different show requests, one to do a take on Mother Goose Stories and the other for a parable like Jesus told from the Bible. Like all wonderful DVD's prior, this one does a wonderful job at incorporating the two and helping children learn about making good choices.

In the first part of the video, we are introduced to a retelling of the children's classic of The Three Little Pigs. This time the story takes place in Cabbageville where three different builders are undergoing to tasks of home development, Larry chooses to build his homes from straw and give them that country feel and they are green friendly too! Mr. Lunt choose the bricks because after all, nothing is stronger than bricks! Then Bob, (the builder) decides to opt for sticks but instead has learned from experience that the foundation is what is important. Soon a building competition ensures for Builder of the Year. The three pigs come to town in hopes of buying homes and each chooses a different one due to their preferences. When the weather man indicates a massive rain storm that could flood the town, who's choice will be the wisest?

For intermission, we are once again introduced to a catchy new song Happy Tooth Day in the Silly Songs with Larry segment. Soon you'll find yourself humming along with this one long after the DVD is over.

In the final segment of this DVD, we are introduced to The Good Egg of Gooseville, where Bob the Tomato (disguised as Humpty Dumpty) is now cast as the friendly mayor of Gooseville. He's a busy mayor who spends time dealing with all the neighbors complaints and soon finds that the stress he's dealing with is causing him to crack his shell. While searching for a way out, he finds the perfect vacation, the vacation all about Me and thinks this will be the answer to all his problems. But with the Mayor gone, who will solve all the neighbors issues like removing the splinter from Miss Muffet's Tuffet? Or how will Goldilocks find more porridge? The end result will literally crack you up!

I received The Little House That Stood compliments of Big Idea Pictures and Flyby Promotions for my honest review. My family has quite literally grown up on Veggie Tales and when the opportunity came along to review this DVD, my entire family said "YES!" Mind you that the youngest in our household is 14. We thoroughly enjoyed this trip down memory lane as a family over dinner one night and all agreed this one is a hands down 5 out of 5 family friendly stars classic with a valuable lesson included. My 14-year-old daughter commented "that's why its important to always make sure you have a firm foundation on anything you do!" Guess the lessons still apply all these years later.

Bonus features on this DVD included a History of Mother Goose, behind the Scenes at Big Idea, Happy Tooth Day Sing-Along, Discussion Guide and so much more. Running time is approximately 49 minutes and includes a preview to the next Veggie Tales DVD coming soon! Abel's Field - DVD Giveaway and Review

Sometimes it's harder to forgive ourselves than it is to seek God's forgiveness. Seth McArdle is about to learn that very lesson in the unlikeliest of places. Seeking to raise his twin younger sisters after the death of his mother and now the abandonment of his father who fails to returns phone calls or even come home to see how his family is managing. While trying to finish up high school, avoid the quarterback of the football team who seems to bully Seth whenever possible, and hold down three jobs just to put enough food on the table. Now when a man appears searching for his father, Seth learns that his father hasn't been paying the mortgage payments on the house and it's now going to be foreclosed upon if the payments are made current.

When those around Seth offer help, he seems too proud to take it or even to ask for it. He is trying to find a way to keep his family together even though it's falling apart all around him. Even his brother, Keith, seems to have abandoned the responsibility of helping out when he can and instead finds solace in drinking. When Seth pushes things a bit too far with the football team, he finds himself the only one facing punishment. The football coach assigns him the task of working with Abel (Kevin Sorbo) the janitor/groundskeeper of the high school to get the sprinkler system up and working before the big game. Abel attempts to find a way to reach inside Seth and help him find the path back to God and to keep him from making some foolish mistakes that may cost him everything in the end.

In the DVD, Abel's Field by Affirm Films, makers of such wonderful family films like Fireproof and Courageous, now bring you another great family film that deals with forgiveness and understanding the circumstances that life can bring about when our choices seems to much to deal with. This is the perfect family movie to watch to show you how easy is can be to ask God for forgiveness and how hard it is for each of us to find forgiveness in ourselves. This one rates a 4 out of 5 stars in my opinion and I received Abel's Field, compliments of Propeller, FlyByPromotions and Affirm Films for my honest review. Once again if you're looking for a wonderful film to watch with your entire family without worrying about the subject matter, than this one is perfect to add to your DVD collection.

Father of Lights ~ DVD Giveaway and Review

About Father of Lights
FATHER OF LIGHTS chronicles the journey of filmmaker Darren Wilson and his team as they fearlessly travel the globe, far from the daily existence of the typical evangelical believer in the West. By thoughtfully documenting the stories of extraordinary believers and candidly filming miracles, visions and other supernatural occurrences, Wilson engages viewers in modern day examples of the true nature and character of God.

Wilson gives honest access to his own spiritual questions as he tackles the religious misconceptions he has struggled with throughout his life.  “I went into making this film by asking the simple question: who is God? I wanted to know His character, His personality, and who He truly is. To answer this question, we had to peel back the many layers of religious garbage that has been passed onto him through generations. That He is angry. Vengeful. Wrathful. And in general, that He doesn’t like you very much. The truth, as you will see vibrantly in this film, is that He is the most loving, compassionate, and wonderful Father you can imagine.”

About Wanderlust Productions
Wanderlust Productions is a video production company focusing on creating content for various media that highlights, informs, and is designed to spiritually stretch our audience.  Created by Darren Wilson, Professor at Judson University, Wanderlust’s focus is on telling stories that inspire and agitate, that are unwavering in their honesty yet are emotionally compelling.  While our content will always be Christian in nature, we are not afraid to explore themes, concepts, or areas that may be considered “risky” by the Christian establishment.  Wanderlust prides itself on its willingness to put the story above the message.  That being said, the message will never waver.

My Review
This is such an powerful documentary of just how wondrous the love of God is to those that we encounter in our day to day lives. While this video shows some of the extreme conversions of God's power in their lives, from a witch doctor, a notorious Chicago gang leader, a Hindu holy man who has been searching all his life for the one true God, and even a random encounter with people in the land of Israel shows what is impossible for man to achieve, for God it's possible!

My husband and I were powerfully impacted in unexpected ways and I have to say my favorite person was an ex-drug addict, now turned street evangelist for God, Todd White. You can just see the love he has for the people he encounters and shows us all that the Bible is alive and real. That they are not just stories but real power that even now we can show to every single person around us and let the light of our Father shine in all of us. Without light, there is only darkness. I received this DVD, Father of Lights compliments of Flyby Promotions and Wanderlust Productions for my honest review and proudly give it a 5 out of 5 shining stars! You can not watch this movie without being impacted for a greater good to share the love and light of God to every single person you meet. This would make for a powerful movie to share in a Bible Study or church group! This DVD runs about 98 minutes and contains some subject matter that might not be suitable for young children.

Thanks to the generous people at FlyBy Promotions and Wanderlust Productions, they are offering a giveaway of this DVD to one lucky follower of my blog. Here's all you need to do to enter:

1. Be a follower of my blog, Reviews From The Heart.

2. Be a resident of the US or have a US shipping address. No P.O. Boxes please!

The American Bible Challenge - Giveaway and Review

"If you don't know your Bible, you don't have a prayer!"

This is guaranteed to be the next slogan to hit homes as the Game Show Network launches the premiere of The American Bible Challenge this Thursday, August 23rd at 8/7 central with the host, Jeff Foxworthy! Jeff Foxworthy, himself spends his Tuesdays and Thursday nights hosting a Bible Study in his hometown for the homeless!

I can see this show being utilized by churches and youth groups to bring fun back into the church through studying the Bible and who knows perhaps forming their own team challenges!

Three teams will battle to challenges of biblical proportions in both the Old and New Testaments while playing to bless others charity's or ministries such as cancer, building wells, supplying shoes, feeding the hungry, human trafficking and aids just to name a few.

They have researched with many pastors and churches to make sure they kept serious Bible learning with fun and humor while creating this exciting and new series!

It doesn't feel like Sunday school but a school of Rock, while still keeping it respectful but relevant with some amazing categories like:

Faithbook - like Facebook where you guess the character based on status updates!
Real Housewives of the O.T.
My Tweet Lord - who tweeted this?
Jesus Christ Super Star Wars - which answers are from the Bible and which are from Star Wars!
Greeting Cards - based on what the card says, figure out who this person, place or event is.

Final Revelation Rounds - the rapid fire round designed to challenge the teams in a series of answers. They are given a category such as Dreams, get time for a quick Bible Study and come back and try to win the round!

I can't wait for this to begin and there are some amazing ways to watch this. You can tune in on Thursday to the Game Show Networks on the 23rd of August, 8/7 central, or you can soon download the app to your device. You can even find out more amazing information on the GSNTV.com website, such as learning about the teams, their charities or play along. Make sure you check out all the details before Thursday. Don't forget to set your DVR's!
