The Miracle of Mercy Land - Giveaway and Review

I was born in a bolt of lightning on the banks of Bittersweet Creek. Mama said it was a prophecy, and as she is given to having visions of the biblical kind, no one argues with her. She can match what she sees with ancient words, and truth be told, she is frightening with the speaking of them. Mama can swipe you with her eye so that you feel like you have either been hushed or resurrected by God's own hand.

On the fateful day of my birth, there had been no signs, natural or otherwise, that foretold what the day would bring. No wild birds roosting in the trees, no funny-yolked eggs, no hints to suggest that a baby was about to show up in a stormy kind of way. - (Excerpt pg 1).

In the latest book, The Miracle of Mercy Land by River Jordan, you find the stage set for a most unusual story. A story you've never encountered before but one that will change you whole life and every decision you ever make from here on out.

In a twist from the Twilight Zone episode, Mercy Land finds herself thrust into the biggest story her local paper could ever hope to print, yet she can't print it. Along with Doc Phillips, the owner of the Banner, they are presented with a most unusual secret that they must both keep while unlocking its mystery. A book has appeared on Doc's desk and within it's pages are the lives of the people of Bay City, both past and present as those reading those pages gives them an depth look at their lives and the choices they have made.

Is it possible to go back and fix something in your past regardless of the consequences it may bring to the future? Will they be willing to take a risk and find out the true purpose of the mysterious book?

You'll have to read, The Miracle of Mercy Land and find out. I received this book compliments of WaterBrook Multnomah for my honest review and have to say it held me attention and captured me into the story on each page. I couldn't wait to see what this book was and if they would choose to use it to change their lives. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars and can't wait to read River Jordan's next book! What I would do with a book that could allow me to change my past: Knowing Scripture, I wouldn't do anything to change my past. Not even sure I would actually read the book, as it would be too tempting to change my past, endangering others. But this sounds like a good read!

  2. I find that as I grow older I am more compassionate and sensitive to the feelings of others. I wish I would have practiced these traits more when I was younger.

  5. I am a follower and an email subscriber! A book that could change my past.... I don't know that I want to change my past. The things that were bad in my past were so involved with the things that were good. They were so interlocked I don't think I would change one so I could have the other and I've been through some pretty rough times in my past. You may think I'm crazy, but I think I'll hang on to it. I love my husband and although he isn't working right now, I don't hold that against him. We went through 2 years before and made it, we'll do ok now.

  6. Ooh, this sounds interesting!! I think if I could go back and change something I would undo a car accident I had - it was just a fender bender but it triggered some things I would rather have not had to go through.

  7. Thank you so much for the beautiful review. I feel the same way about changing the past. Someone asked me if I would and I said - absolutely and not at all. That's the way it feels because you certainly want to right what appears to be obvious wrongs but we never know where those 'mistakes' helped lead us. Or at least we got back on a path where we belonged all along. Hope you have a beautiful day.
    Warmest,
    River Jordan

  11. I'm not sure what I would do with a book that would allow me to change my past. I guess I would read it, and then leave it sit on my bookshelf. There is a few things about my past I would like to change. But most of it I would want it to stay the same. So I guess it would be best just to change nothing. I love the cover on this book, and would like to read it. Please enter me. Thanks!

  13. What an unusual story! I really like the author's unique name. It would be tempting to want to change the past in some way, but it might affect someone else in tragedy or unhappy circumstances. I think I would avoid the temptations and learn how to live with whatever has happened to cause regret. Thanks for the giveaway and the chance to win this unusual book. I hope I do.
