Unlocking The Kingdom

I've been a huge Disney fan since the first time my parents introduced me to Disneyland. My first experience and even my more recent time in the park still possesses that magic I had when I was younger, only know I share a greater appreciation for the dreams of Walt Disney. He set out to create a place where kids and their parents could escape the ordinary world and escape into a world of make believe and this is just what I believe he accomplished.

In the second novel by Jeff Dixon, Unlocking the Kingdom is a fantasy fiction book based on the dreams of Walt Disney turning over the "key to the kingdom" to someone who would see his dreams and attempt to continue to fulfill them within the Magic Kingdom based in Florida. He created a master plan along with three of his most trusted Imagineers to some day find someone suitable to pass along control to managing the park and resort properties. Grayson Hawkes was that man. We learn more about how he came to possess the "key to the kingdom" in his first novel, The Key to the Kingdom, and in this one, the mystery begins to unfold once again.

Grayson Hawkes is still a part time preacher in his local church, Celebration Community Church, but now with time, notoriety and fame have pushed him into the media spotlight. Being a private man with a past he doesn't want to share with the world, he has been able to maintain that level of privacy until the day he meets with Total Access, an investigative television show, whose goal is to find out how a preacher at a local church is now suddenly the control interest in the Magic Kingdom. The one thing Grayson Hawkes didn't plan on was trouble within the park by those that want him to resign and to turn over the key to the kingdom to them. It begins by finding pirate figures from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride now in four different attractions just as the park is open for business. All Grayson can figure out, is someone with access into the park could be the only one responsible for these pranks. But its about to get personal when Grayson is confronted and attacked in the Hall of Presidents attraction by a man wearing a Jimmy Carter mask. He warns Grayson that if he doesn't relinquish control of the property and the key things will get much, much worse.

On top of all this is the ever inquisitive investigative reporter, Kate Young from Total Access who will be spending the next week shadowing him with her film crew in hopes of giving her television audience the total access to Grayson Hawkes. In the midst of all of this a new mystery begins with the second task Grayson must deal with, finding the next set of clues from the second Imagineer, George Colmes to unlocking a greater piece of Disney help from Walt Disney, himself to help Grayson continue in his efforts to manage the Magic Kingdom.

I received Unlocking the Kingdom by Jeff Dixon compliments of Deep River Books and Bring It On Communications for my honest review. I have not received any monetary compensation for a favorable review. This is such an amazing series, Keys to the Kingdom, and my own disappointment is these novels are based in the Magic Kingdom in Florida and thus, I can't visit to check out some of the interesting trivia and Disney facts that Jeff blends into this amazing series. I didn't realize that there was a Mickey Mouse on the golf ball in the Soaring attraction and that Michael Eisner was the person who hit the ball that appears destined to hit the passengers on the attraction. The mystery that Grayson must uncover is truly remarkable and gives readers insight into the world of Walt Disney and the people he employed in his goal to make Disney theme parks a truly magical experience. If you love Disney and a great mystery, then you will LOVE this novel. If you haven't picked up the first one, The Key to the Kingdom, I would suggest you start there first and then venture into this one. I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and plan on keeping this one on my personal library shelf.

Chasing Moments

"We live in an amazing world. Rich variety is expressed in our food, clothing styles, architecture, languages, occupations, and religious expressions. Yet, despite our diverse cultures and the unique ways we human beings spend our days, we all strive for all that life might offer.

In this search for life - full, real life - many grasp for individual moments of fulfillment and consequently live in a never-ending quest. A cruise or exotic dinner promises pleasure but ends quickly without any sustained satisfaction. Surely life is more than chasing moments! Life leaves many of us empty in the end. No one should neglect the question to find out whether life has ultimate meaning. The question is this: "Will I live life or simply exist?"

The classic phrase "the blind leading the blind" identifies a key obstacle preventing the enjoyment of life's true meaning. Long before most people ever ask the right questions about life, they're already following the same path as nearly everyone else. Leaders tend to groom those who come behind them to follow in what they have learned from those who went before. No one knows, if, why, or how the path they're on will lead to a truly fulfilled life. Few are brave enough to consider that so many could be so wrong.

The essence of what Jesus came to do is expressed in his statement, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10b). Jesus invites each of us to "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it" (Matthew 7:13-14)."

In the book, Chasing Moments by Ed Malone, the reader is invited into the journey of just what the difference is in having a meaningful and abundant life. Far too often people strive to get to the next level in their life assured that once they arrive, happiness will follow. Only when they arrive, they find the moment fleeting at best and are still mystified to wonder where their happiness went. This book walks the reader through the hows and whys of a Christian relationship with Jesus and offers a self assurance that the happiness we seek will never be found in this life, but in the one that lies once we breathe our last breath here on Earth.

If you have ever wondered where true happiness is found, I would strongly encourage you to take a look at this powerful but simple book that details the purpose of why Jesus Christ's life and death was important and how we can each take a step in the right direction to assure ourselves of an eternal home that can only be found with a belief in Jesus Christ.

I received Chasing Moments by Ed Malone compliments of Deep River Books and Bring It On Communications for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review. I picked up this book myself to read because I felt like I was going through a dry spell in my own spiritual walk and wanted to draw a deeper meaning to the value of my life and my purpose here. I already know that no matter what I have in this life, it will never be enough. The better job, the bigger house, more money in the bank will alleviate certain fears in your life, but happiness can never come from wanting more but in doing more for others who need the very help you can offer. Trust me, the impacts in doing those things are life changing and memorable in ways I can't describe. All I know is the more you do them, the more you want to keep on doing them. People feel that they would do more to help others if they won the lottery or made more money, but why don't you help people now with what you can. Make a difference now in small ways than waiting for the big moment that may never come. Perhaps God is simply waiting to see how you handle the small things before launching you into bigger ones. I easily rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it to those in need of spiritual awakening or even spiritual refreshing.

Miracle on Snowbird Lake

This is not the book for everyone, especially those that have a hard time reading about child abductions. However in Miracle on Snowbird Lake by Stan Bednarz, the reader gets an inside look at what the family of the victim has to deal with in not knowing if their child is alive or dead, and those intense feelings of revenge that surface whenever a suspect is found.

Reverend Robert Davis is struggling with many different emotions since the disappearance of his eleven-year-old daughter Annie rode off on her bike one summer day and was never heard from again. Despite all the search efforts of the town and local authorities, no trace of Annie other than her abandoned bicycle were ever found. It has made the small town of Dutch Hollow especially diligent of watching over their own children more closely to ensure the same never happens to them.

For Robert and his wife, Mary they do what most surviving families do in cases like these, each chooses to deal with the tragedy in their own way. Mary dissolves into a state of deep depression while she blames Robert for Annie's disappearance. Robert tries to find solace in his job at the church, but even God appears silent on this issue and he contemplates suicide many times but never follows through. When an apparent psychic shows up with information about Annie, Robert isn't sure if this is simply another attempt for dealing with emotions from the past again or finding hope that Annie is still alive. In either case, he has to meet with Donna Brushton to find out if there is any hope at finding Annie alive after all this time.

I received Miracle on Snowbird Lake compliments of Bring It On Communications and Carmichael Publishing for my honest review. Dealing with crimes against innocent children makes any fiction or non fictional book hard to read, but within this one I found hope again. That despite whatever outcome, God can still bring about some good from whatever happens in time. This is the story of such a case. I would rate this one a 4 out of 5 stars and have not received any monetary compensation for a favorable review.

Selah: Your Moment to Stop, Think, and Step Into Your Future

Selah. Just what does it mean? Depending on which version of the Bible you find, you are likely to see it a variety of ways and interpreted several ways. I find that the definition of Selah is a pause. It means to stop and think about what you just heard. Others say its a musical notation or interlude. Still others find its similar to the Hebrew word Calah, meaning to weight, to measure, to evaluate. Wherever you find it in the Bible, it seems the word is a boundary, a marker. A place to stop and observe, to be still. But regardless of what we cal lit, we need Selah in our lives - no matter where we are in our journey.

Selah helps us remember who we are; it's a place to be still, to know God. It's a place where we can deal with choices and changes. In these pauses, we're reminded that we have a certain number of days, and we can ask ourselves, Do I want to spend the rest of my life doing what I'm doing? In these places, we see things we need to add or to let go. But we need these pauses in the presence of God to examine our priorities - to pursue what matters most.

In the book, Selah by Nancie Carmichael, she helps the reader map out the next steps toward a more meaningful life - touching others, making positive changes, and leaving the legacy of a life well spent. She invites you to come alongside as she examines the lives of people who took defining steps to make a greater difference. Their wisdom can help you live with greater joy and a sense of anticipation. It's never too late to make your life count, no matter how old you are!

I received this book compliments of Bring It On Communication for my honest review and think we all need a book like this one. It's never to late to take account of what you are doing in your life, where you are at and just what would you like to accomplish before you die. We want our lives to leave a lasting legacy and to make a difference in the lives we touch. This book helps you find your way using Biblical references from women in the Bible, such as the woman at the well! This one spoke volumes to me and offer me a different perspective that I needed in my life at 47 and for that reason I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars.

The Key To The Kingdom

Key To The Kingdom Trailer from Marc Percy on Vimeo.

Who hasn't heard of Walt Disney, Disneyland, The Magic Kingdom or anything related to Disney in general?

Some of us have grown up with Disney in some form or another for most of our lives and know what dreams can do for those of us willing to dare to live them.

Farren Rales is one of the chief Imagineers working for the Magic Kingdom and when he calls Grayson Hawkes, a pastor of Celebration Community Church and asks him to meet him at the Gamble House. The Gamble House is a piece of property that is now part of the National Historical Society and is the inspiration come to life of Snow White's cottage from Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

It's late at night for a secret meeting with Farren and Hawkes as they wander around the inside of the cottage learning about Disney's fascination for details within a story. He leaves Hawkes with a gift, an old key that he claims is the Key to the Kingdom. When he looks up to inquire more about what the key means, Farren has vanished into the dark of night.

As Hawkes leaves the cottage, he learns that he is not the only one in the park at night. Running for his car, he barely manages to escape with his life. When Farren fails to show up for work, his secretary grows worried and returns Hawkes calls since he was the last person to see him. Not knowing what to do or where Farren is, he gets worried and believes that the clues to what is happening lie within the Magic Kingdom and what exactly that key will unlock.

Now Hawkes finds himself in a Disney-like National Treasure scavenger hunt, unlocking riddles that lead him to more clues within the Animal Kingdom, The Disney Resort, and Epcot Center with a stuffed Pal Mickey that becomes activated with hidden sensors located throughout the park guiding him to the next clue.

What he will ultimately discover is the Disney Magic may be more real than we have been led to believe and perhaps there is a whole lot more reality mixed in then we know.

I received the mystery novel, The Key to the Kingdom by Jeff Dixon, compliments of Bring It On Communication for my honest review. Being a huge Disney fan since I was a child, my child-like wonder has never left and I was captivated by the way the author wove this mystery around Disney facts and trivia that most of us walk by in our day to day visits of the park and never give it a second thought. Do tunnels really exist below the park? Is Walt Disney really sealed in a cryogenic cylinder waiting for a cure for cancer? Is there really a Snow White Cottage in Port Orange, Florida and inspired Disney to create Disneyland?

Who knows until you read this book and decide for yourself is this really fiction or perhaps a Disney magic way of covering up the secrets of the park! I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars and now it has a place of permanence in my personal library because the kid in me, still believes in magic!

Wayback: A Novel

A mysterious Nazi super-weapon, hidden for more than 60 years, has been discovered by members of a reclusive, private think tank and perfected using modern technology. This fully realized and reliable device is so powerful, so provocative, that the basic beliefs of science, history, and religion could be overturned in an instant.

After a cataclysmic system failure kills an expedition attempting to return to the year 100,000 B.C., a team of skeptical scientists and adventurers is dispatched to the Antediluvian world-a word that no one anticipated- full of wonder, danger and advanced civilizations that will rock the accepted theories of science and history to their core.

However, the team is unaware of another plan that is unfolding; there are people who will kill to use this remarkable machine to further their own plans for our past and future.

About the Author:

Sam Batterman makes his living as a software engineer and lives with his wonderful wife, Susan, and their two kids, Samantha and Parker in Southeastern Pennslyvania. Wayback is Sam's first novel, but there will be others. Sam and his wife serve at Valley Forge Baptist Temple in Collegeville, PA.

My Review:

This is my second book by Sam Batterman after the first book I read of his Maximal Reserve, got me rethinking the way of viewing science and history from what we've been taught in school and what the Bible tells us. There are some things we never really quite put together and often take the words of so-called 'experts' as our belief in some things. When I had the opportunity to review Sam's debut novel, I jumped at the chance.

His ability to engage the reader with a topic and keep it evolving throughout the book is what will hook you from the very beginning. After the Nazi scientists develop a means of traveling through time in the midst of war, you realize the possibilities can be frightening. When they program the machine to go back as far as we've been taught to pre-history and the stone age, they soon find out the world isn't really as old as they thought. A devastating accident occurs that will lead Admiral Nathan Turner to discover what is really hiding in Area 51 and it has nothing to do with aliens!

I received this book compliments of Bring It On Communications for my honest review and once more I was not disappointed. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars and for those who love a great story with a science fiction, biblical twist, then this is a perfect find for you. Maximal Reserve

What would you think if the information we have learned about in school on so called "Fossil Fuels" was all wrong?

What if it was more abundant that anyone ever thought and not only that but it was a renewable one?

How would that affect our world's economy and the power of those that have control over oil production now?

In the latest Christian, science fiction, suspense thriller, Maximal Reserve by Sam Batterman, uses those questions as a basis for the premise of his story. Axcess Energy is the newest up and coming company that promises that it will change the economy of the world through finding new sources for energy that would reduce our dependence on oil production.

Ripped from recent headlines, this vast and unknown oil reserve is located directly underneath Israel. If they could harness this, it would make them, the largest country to have oil over all and drastically change the way the world views Israel.

Philip Channing is hired by Dr. John Chambers to work for Axcess Energy as a geologist, to use the data they are uncovering beneath the mid-Atlantic ridge and find a way to tap into this source of oil and natural gas that lies deeper than anyone has ever known. It will be the ultimate job of a lifetime, until he discovers that people are willing to kill to keep this discovery unknown.

I received this book compliments of Bring It On Communications for my honest review and actually learned so much about the new theories about oil production and what really lies beneath the earth's surface and how far science may have gotten it wrong. I rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars and would highly recommend it considering just how close this book is, to becoming not just a fiction based one but a true story after the discovery made in Israel recently.

Apocalypse 2012: The Ticking of the End Time Clock

Thousands of people worldwide seem to be preparing for the end of days in 2012.

Did Nostradamus, the Mayans, and others have a glimpse of God's plan for the end of the earth? It so, will anyone survive 2012, or will that b the end of humanity? Is there a link between these ancient prophecies and what the Bible presents about the end times?

Apocalypse 2012: The Ticking of the End Time Clock by John Claeys reveals incredible and shocking information about the future of this world. Unlike all the other books on the market today, John Claeys devotes the beginning chapter to the predictions of what some say will happen in 2012, from Planet X theories, to the ending of the Mayan calendar, polar reversals, geomagnetic reversal of the Earth, planet alignment, but most of the book describes what the Bible says will happen and what signs we should be looking for.

Are we truly living in the last days? Will this be the generation that will not face a physical death? Just where are we at in the Bible prophecy calendar and just how much time is left? This is an in depth study into the books of prophecy in the Bible and just how easy it is to be lulled into a false sense of security when we should be looking for the coming of Jesus, very soon.

I received this book compliments of Bring It On Communications for my honest review and I think this one is a must read for all Christian since it's mainly a Bible Study on End Times and would provide valuable insight on just how close we really are. This one rates a 5 out of 5 stars and it deals mostly with Biblical references in comparison to all the other end times books on 2012 out there.

Uncle Eben's Christmas

A different take of the traditional Christmas Carol, we find Eben Johnson just days before the Christmas season, hard at work trying to make it another successful year in his Home Improvement Store.

It's a Monday morning just promptly at nine when he arrives for his staff meeting with his department heads. After all the normal business agenda items, Myron Hoffman announces that one of the employees isn't following his stores holiday policy. When he asks for the employee's name, Myron tells him he will talk to him about it privately later.

Eben Johnson once more reiterates his stores policy against refraining from using the words Merry Christmas in his store, from referring to items as holiday decorations or lights to the use of Happy Holidays in his stores advertising, but most importantly, no one is to wish anyone a Merry Christmas.

What Eben Johnson will come to understand this year is just how his store policy may in fact cost him customers and ultimately affect his bottom line in the end.

In the book, Uncle Eben's Christmas, by Stephen Alan Slater, we find out just what Eben believes and why he is so dead-set on making sure Christmas and Christ stay out of his life. He personally feels that all his good deeds he does everyday will ultimately win out over his "sins" anyway. He has nothing to fear. Yet when his bad mood gets the best of him when dealing with his niece about Christmas, he is about to get the surprise of his life.

I received Uncle Eben's Christmas compliments of Bring It On Communications and Deep River Books for my honest review and think this would make for a great Christmas book to add to your collection. It brings about so many questions regarding evolution versus creation in addition to offending other religions with the Christmas greeting. I think this book hits it right on the head and provides more insight into why someone people act the way they do during the Christmas season. This one rates a perfect 5 out of 5 stars!

Midnight Rising

There come periods in the history of the world, almost cyclically, when it is time to step back and make fresh assessments of the accuracy of our understanding of prophetic things. Had the Jews stepped back and considered the words of their own prophets, they might not have had their Messiah executed by the Gentiles. If the Jews had listened to their prophets in the 300 years before they went into captivity, Nebuchadnezzar might not have taken Jerusalem in 586 BC. In the Jews, possessed the prophets of Daniel, had calculated the time frame that he gave them, they would have known that Jesus was the Lord from heaven. They were caught up in their present lives and didn't notice the fulfillment of many prophecies all around them. They were so caught up in temporal matters that they did not have time to consider those times or seasons that had slipped up on them while they were unaware.

So where are we today in Bible prophecy? Are we about the make the very same mistake that the Jews did so long ago, thinking we are not really living as close to the end times the Bible predicts? How can we be so sure?

Using the scriptures of Ezekiel, Daniel, Revelation and Thessalonians, this book uncovers just how close we truly are to the Rapture of the Church, what place the United States will play in the end times (yes, we are in there and it isn't good), and just where we should be looking for the antichrist to arise.

While it won't lay claim to who the antichrist is with 100% accuracy, we can not deny that the signs that the Bible speaks of and where we are on the prophetic map, allow the reader to wonder if we aren't the generation that will not see physical death. Just what role does 2012 play into this? We the Mayans close to conveying something big is going to happen in 2012? Will an asteroid hit the planet Earth that will be so massive that it will knock the Earth off its axis?

All these questions are answered with Bible based certainty in the latest book by Wm. Anderson Simpson, called Midnight Rising - Warning Signs for this Generation. For anyone who claims to be a Christian, this is a must read so we don't fall in the same pattern as the Jewish people did long ago. Let's us make sure our oil is filled and we are ready for the Bridegroom to come and claim His bride. This book rates a 5 out of 5 stars and I look forward to keep this as a resource along with my Bible in the days ahead. I plan on being ready. The author of this book is the primary author of the theological monthly, Christian Chronicles, which you can view online still today to keep up with current events that the Christian wants to be aware of.

I received this book compliments of Bring It On Communications for my honest review. I can honestly say, I knew we were close but not sure just how close. My biggest error in my own research had me looking for the antichrist to come from Europe or the Middle East. I was shocked to learn what the Bible had to say regarding this. Now my personal mission is seeking to tell as many as I can about God's salvation plan more so now than ever before. I used this book hand in hand with my own Bible to research all the scripture references. WOW was I off on a lot of things. I will be keeping this book close at hand as we fulfill more and more prophecies in the days ahead. As a Christian, this is a must have.

Those who are alive on the earth during the Tribulation will recognize it since this was written to that generation of those who will become saints during the Tribulation, those who are slain by the sword or who remain alive to witness the Second Coming of the Lord.

That generation will be greatly blessed on account of their faith in the near return of the Messiah. That generation of Jews and Gentiles alike will have high honor among the saints. The saints of the early Church suffered persecution from the beginning, and we continue to do so today.

Man worries about global warming but has no fear of those things the Bible say will happen. Willingly ignorant, man stumbles into the very things prophesied of him, and nobody notices. Today, the devil has practically the whole of the true Church looking toward some distant point in time, blinding them to this present world system. (pg. 72)

Glimpsing God

What would you do if in the span of 2 years, you had your heart stop, you found out your daughter had been hit in the head with a steel baseball bat and suffered a cracked skull that would require surgery more than once, you get involved in a car accident with all of your kids that leaves one of thm almost lifeless, you discover that three of your five kids have a rare genetic brain disorder, and then your husband is involved in a car accident that leave him permanently disabled?

Would you question God?

Would you ask Why God would put you and your family through this?

If He is God, couldn't He have prevented all this?

What if you were doing all the right things as a Christian, going to church, volunteering in the church, paying your tithes, and praying as often as you could, what then?

I don't know about you, but I would have thought God up and abandoned me several times. Yet, we know God is never to blame. We live in a world where our faith is constantly put to the test, but none in this case as much as Rachel Alkire does in her dramatic true story called Glimpsing God.

Yes, all the above is detailed out along with Rachel's thought that often go hand in hand with what we might consider if we had to deal with everything. Yet in the midst of everything, time after time, God showed the goodness that comes from every single one of those circumstances and in the end, created such a strong faith for both her and her family to come to know God more intimately.

I received this amazing story compliments of Bring It On Communications for my honest review and LOVED it! I taught me that seeing things through the eyes of another is often easy to see just how powerful and mighty our God truly is, and no matter what happens in our life, He never leaves us. This one is a powerful testimony that would be a great gift for anyone wanting the answer to why God does what He does. This rates a 5 out of 5 stars!!!
