Solitary

Just what the name implies, alone, no outsiders needed or wanted. The people who come to live in the town of Solitary, North Carolina are exactly that. There are some deep, dark, evil secrets to this town that no one seems willing to talk about and anyone new that moves to town soon disappears just around Christmas time with no word on where they went.

Chris Buckley moves to the lovely small isolated town with his mother after her divorce from the father he never really wanted to know. She came to Solitary because her only remaining living relatives still live here, yet when she shows up, they have all left without a trace. They move into her brother's cabin to see if they can make it here and when Chris' mom begins have unexplained night terrors that leave her screaming, Christ wonders if this is the right town for them after all.

Being the new kid in school always presents a challenge until one day Chris meets Jocelyn Evans one of the most hottest girls in school but soon finds out that he isn't welcome to get to know her at all by the bullies roaming the halls. Even Jocelyn has seemed to have lost all hope in this town. Will Chris be able to uncover the deep secrets of the town or will he too find himself another victim of the town come December? You'll have to pick up the book and read to find out.

I received the book Solitary from Travis Thrasher compliments of B & B Media Group, and after reading his last book, Broken, I am hooked on his writing. He is a Christian blend of Stephen King meets Ted Dekker and his books hook you from the first page until the very end. Solitary is the first book in the new Solitary series and I can't wait til the next book comes out. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars for those of you that like a little mystery thriller of the Christian version.

  1. Thanks for the great review, Kat. Glad you've discovered my writing. I'm almost finished with book two, and even though I thought I knew what was going to happen, it surprised me. Hope it does the same for readers. Happy reading!
